..and I forgot--thanks for the birthday wishes--it was great! If you get a chance--go see the movie "Love, Actually"...a bit of nudity and language, but funny! (Can you picture Hugh Grant playing the Prime Minister of the UK and Billy Bob Thornton as the US President?! I couldn't! LOL) This same director did the movies Four Weddings And A Funeral and also Bridget Jones Diary...it is actually about 8 separate love connections and is very well done!

Woohoo Toni...good deal on not working Sunday!

Buggy, they have these programmable memory keyer kits (about the size of a postage stamp minus the speaker) for about 10 bucks via mail order. That would be easy to program with that message and have a momentary SPST switch hidden to activate it.

OK...DEQ is allowing us to burn from 10-3 today and I have a branch pile that is 15 ft high and 20 ft around. Time to smoke up the neighborhood! LOL

Everybody have a great Full Moon Friday!

AA - You're right, I hadn't thought of using a memory keyer. Now don't start any wild fires you. BTW, the full moon was gorgeous wasn't it.

Have a great day.

lol Ive never ridden a train ..sounds like fun tho

Now are you saying I have to find some museums and/or actual lines you need to ride on? I actually have found a few good websites to follow.

My wife hadn't been on a train until I took her. Her excuse was that she came from the Azores where the island wasn't big enough for a train.;)

Have a great day.

Back to work.

Happy Monday!

Good morning Brats! Hope you all had a wonderful weekend and going to have a nice week as well. AA glad you enjoyed your birthday, see that wasn't so bad, now was it!

Buggy - I have not really ridden a train either. I have the small ones like at Six Flags and other places like that, but as far as a real train I haven't. They have a train that will take ppl from downtown Dallas to downtown Ft. Worth but have not had a chance to ride it. However, when Daniel and I went to the State Fair we went to one of the transit stations and rode a train, kind of like a subway, to downtown and caught the bus from there to the Fair. I have always wanted to take a vacation on a train, just to see what it would be like. But only if I had enough time to enjoy the scenery and get somewhere and spend some time and then have time to take the train back. But in our hurried world alot of times it is more convenient to fly or drive.

Well then try Amtrak
in stead of Greyhound for a trip. They have trains from Dallas and Fort Worth to various parts of Washington.;)

Rail Museum Listings
Lists railroad museums world wide, and some of these have steam engines pulling their trains. Diesel works, but steam can be nicer.

Even if they don't have rides, some have model railroads which are great to see.

Have a great day. Thanks for delivering for me.;)

Bitebrat...get down to Hood River and take the Mt Hood Railroad--especially during the fall. This older train goes up the Hood River Valley, past the apple/pear orchards, stops at Parkdale for an hour and them back to Hood River. Gorgeous scenery on a vintage train and the round trip takes about four hours--kids would love it, too!

the museums here in TX are not too close by. But would make a good day trip or short vacation trip.

Check this out, toni...the cars on this are vintage (from the 1930's and 40's, I believe)...only an hour's drive from here and I have ridden it--the track even has a switchback on it halfway up the mountain! Here's the link below...
