Okay, I have a stupid question. I am trying to upload a picture onto a website, and it keeps telling me it has to be in GIF, JPEG, or BMP format. I have it in a Winzip file. Isn't that the same thing? What do I need to do? I don't have a clue.

Open your zip utility and unzip it. Winzip is a compression utility that takes big files and makes them smaller. I zip my audio stories before sending them to Laurel because that makes them lose about 2 megs of size and takes less time to send. Slow connection here.

If you don't have a compression utility go to http://www.winzip.com and you can get a shareware version.

After you unzip the picture it will be in .gif, .jpg (.jpeg), .bmp, .tif, or any other picture version, though the previous are the most popular picture types. If it isn't, then open whatever photo editor you have, pull down the file menu, pick save as, then resave the picture in one of the proscribed formats.

I would however stay away from .bmp files, as they are considerably bigger than Jpeg and gif.

If computers were intelligent, they'd be easy to use.
