I pick England (London, specifically) for the reasons Cheyenne stated, plus the similarity in legal systems; the common basis for most of our laws would make the transition from attorney to barrister easier than a transition to most other countries I would consider.

Isabella, do you have any idea what London Calling is about? It's not exactly a tribute. Oh nevermind....
you know what dear ... i love that song so much ... and i am not exactly sure ... except perhaps drug use? please enlighten moi ...

and i love that British Telecom wanted to use "London Calling" for their last advertising campaign. They were told to bog off ... lol

Ahhh. I've always been a sucker for a lady with an english accent who uses the word "arse"

One of these days I'll have to hop across the pond for a fortnight to get some fish & chips. :)

I picked "other".....

Would love to move to Italy....or the Turks and Caicos
islands in the Caribbean.....or Fiji.... or Ibiza, Spain......

I'd live in Aussie cause i like living far away from people.
I'd pick a place further tward the center of the continent where no body else lived.

You'd have to get one of those expensive white horsehair wigs! Really! :D

Believe me, that's one of the few things holding me back. I just don't know how I would manage a serious disposition with that thing balanced on my head. Some traditions should just be allowed to fade away, especially one rooted in such embarassing and unhealthy reasons.

Someone was told that Italy stinks. Italians are the warmest people of any country that I have experienced! I've heard that your mileage may vary if you are female (and, esp., blonde) though.

I was told it stinks. Not figuratively, literally. Family was born there and said that it smells. And not just Venice which they've said parts of it smell terrible.

I picked England (London is great - multicultural, and great parks, plus you can take a train to Glasgow or Dublin any time), but my dream city is Lucerne, Switzerland. Zurich's nice too.

Why Luzern?

Have you been there? I was there for Carnavale- it is a beautiful city

We spent the Christmas before last in Lucerne. It's a very beautiful city - along the water, with the bridges and swans and nice people. We spent New Years in Zurich. Zurich's very nice as well - a little more city-ish - but Lucerne's a laid back place to be.

Oh, yeah, I understood that you were told it stinks literally, but part of my point was that it wouldn't matter because the people are so beautiful.

I was in Italy after 5 months in Switzerland, so, if Italy stank, I would have known it. Rome didn't stink, Brindisi didn't stink, and Firenze most definitely didn't stink- I was astounded by how clean and how much like, well, like Switzerland Florence was. Ostia was kind of nasty, but I don't remember a stink. I can see how Venezia might smell a little - but I never went there.

New York and London stink, on the other hand. Athens stank because of the pollution. The smog was so bad there that I developed a cough and started coughing up brown phlegm even though I was a smoker at the time.

If you have a chance to move to Rome I wholeheartedly endorse it. One day maybe I will live there... I liked the Italians so much that I changed my opinion about the language (I used to think of it as sleazy) and learned a little in school when I got home.

You know, I really never notice a smell when I'm in New York. Maybe it's because I live in Kodak city and my sense of smell has been destroyed by industrial reek.

:D

jees

jees Angel you are younger than my ex-gf!
No, wait, I was going the wrong way. You're a few
months older.

Anyway, yeah, smells are probably subjective to an extent.
The smell of a place was never bad enough to bother me (except in Athens). Maybe I'm just less olfactorally sensitive than most.

As to the kitty person and Luzern, well, it's funny how everyone seems to come away from CH with the impression that they're nice people. How long were you in the country?
