There is a debate going on about when to start up the sports seasons again. This may sound trivial to some, but I think its an important issue and has a huge affect on the country's moral.

Personally, I think they are going to have to cancel the games Sunday. I heard they are using the Giants practice facility as a temporary morgue or command center. I can't see there being a game in New York at all, and that means they will have to cancel all the games.

Considering the devastation in the NY area, maybe postpone the games there or relocate them. But generally, I think to cancel or postpone normal activity outside the immediate area of the disaster is to fuel the idea that the terrorists achieved what they wanted, to bring America to her knees.

Despite the suffering, misery and horror of Tuesday, America's strength has always been to get back to the normality of day to day life and deal with the aftermath of disasters without everything coming to a standstill.

The earthquakes of San Francisco and Alaska come to mind as examples as do a few major hurricanes of the last half-century.

While neither of those were quite so personal nor offensive nor involved such loss of innocent life, they were disasters of a similar scale.

This one is more personal because they people slaughtered were targeted because they were Americans. In the others, they were unfortunate enough to be in the path of a natural disaster.

So in my insignificant opinion, Americans should do as we have in the past. Grieve for those we have lost, lick our wounds, and return to the normal daily grind as we heal and hope the leadership and military takes care of their end of the bargain and support them to that end.

I think they should play on Sunday. What better way to show the world we will overcome this tragedy than by engaging in the most decidedly American game of football. Give the masses something positive to get behind and move them away from the lynch mob mentality.

If the facilities in NYC aren't available, swap this week with the scheduled bye week for the teams that are/were supposed to play.

If they are, I can't see how anyone would want to play there, after what it would represent.

no all should give up their bye week....or at the very least extend the season...geez, what's important here. Not that it's over yet but....

Play. Besides, the Giants, AND Jets play in Jersey, NOT NY. I NEVER understood why.

Play.......................They want us to halt everything...................We must be strong and not stop anything but move on.........Then take action on who has done this...........

Good to read you again Uncle Bill.

Yes. Play. To do otherwise is to succumb to the wishes of madmen.

If the FAA and the government don't let the airlines fly, it may be a mute point.

I don't blame them for checking things out, but if the teams can't get from point A to point B, there will be no games because the visiting team won't be able to get there.
