Simple Terms Fer A Simple Chick:D

I Have Wantonly Downloaded A Whole Slew Of New Fonts, Extracted The Suckers, But Am Told By The Puter That A File Is Being Used By Windows So I Can't Move Them To Their Proper Place!

What Am I Doing Wrong?

Can I Be Saved This Annoyance By One Of The Members Of Lit Or The True How To Wizard WH!?

The simplest solution would be to just re-extract them to their "proper place." But that might not be necessary if Windows has already found the file and is using it.

You can try rebooting into Safe Mode -- hold down the control key while rebooting to get the boot menu and select Safe Mode.

A word of caution: The more Fonts you have configured, the slower your system will be. However fast your system is, about half of the time required to start Explorer or any other progrm that uses the full font list is consumed by checking loading the fonts available if you only have the the normal compliment of Fonts that come with Windows. If you double the basic number of fonts, you make that two-thirds of the time required to load a program used to sort and index the available fonts.
