Guys - What would you think if your girl gave you flowers (or a flower)?

What kinds of flower(s) would you like?

Girls - have you ever given your man a flower/flowers? What was his reaction?

Discuss. :D

I admit I like getting flowers, but just on special occasions.

Do it. Type doesn't matter, it's all about a visible expression and it's so uncommon that it's ALWAYS a treat - at least if I remember correctly. It's been years...

He's working 2nd shift on V-day so we won't be together... I was just going to stick a rose and a card under his windshield wiper for him to find before he goes to work.

He's an airplane engine mechanic. He's a guy's guy. lol I usually go for the less rugged type. lol

I've gotten them from girls, and from a guy at my last birthday. They look great on the mantle (and compost nicely in the backyard).

You'd score more points with really good chocolate chip cookies or a hand massage, but flowers work fine.

I don't sit here singing You don't send me flowers, anymore, but if it was to happen I'd be very touched.

Anything that shows the people that you love that you care should always be appreciated, and I'd see this as a very unique way of doing that. Originality is always good.

He doesn't like sweets (yeah, I know, he's a freak)... and the massage will probably come later. :D

flowers work~but for guys i think the colors should be kept deeper and darker.

Rose,

Go with something simple; sunflowers or even a plant works. Persoanlly I have received flowers and enjoyed the hell out of them. Especially in the winter when things can be drab.

I have sent flowers to hubby on a few occasions. Here's a few things to keep in mind though:

Pink=highly feminine
baby's breath=highly feminine

Go with burgandy, or deep marron for flowers, and have them accented with something like purple statice, and asparagus fern, rather than baby's breath and that icky old tree fern.

Also, have them forgo a large flouncy bow.

Bright bold colors like orange and yellow with purple accents also work well.

I agree. I was going for deep red, more likely than not. lol (Somewhat cliche, but appropriate, I think.)

OK here's my OTHER before I get the beating....

Once I gave a guy flowers and he LOVED it....said he now understood the power of a flower *hmm* sorry for the rhyme ;)

Another time I had a dozen roses delivered to my bf at his job...he was in the Air Force, and he got such a hard time of it at work, that he didn't like it and was pissed off....*men!*

So...I will still give men flowers, just not at work....unless they have a very unmanly job :)

Thinking really hard, but I don't think I ever received flowers for any occasion ... not that I'm complaining, mind you. :rose:

Once I came out of my office to find that Madam S had left a single rose on my steering wheel and a card directing me to a nearby hotel. It was FANTASTIC.

Personally, I liked getting flowers. Or a balloon, or a bear... whatever. Always been proud of my gal and our relationship too, plus it just shows my lady's thinking about me. Nothing to be ashamed of there, imo. :)

I've recieved flowers on numerous occassions. I would have prefered a different gift. However, I am appreciative regardless.

Being that I am not pretentious, or austentatious a single red rose would do, and a handmade card is always nice.

Most guys just dont like to get flowers in my opinion, and more than most dont know how much women "love" to get flowers.

If they did, they would send them more often.

If I'm gonna get a boquet, it damned well better be a boquet of those choco-chip cookies that come looking like flowers. They taste a lot better than real flowers anyway.

Flowers?

No.

All we really want for Valentines's Day is a blowjob.

Romantic?

Maybe not.

But true....

PS: This also applies to Lincoln's Birthday....

I chose other. I'm not going to explain so I think I'll take being beaten by thorny roses, it'll be the closest I get to someone giving me flowers.

and the explanation anyways. I never gave flowers, but I almost did once. I had it all planned out and everything. It fell through when we broke up the week before. I figured it wouldnt be worth it to do something like that if we werent exactly speaking to each other when he'd of gotten them.

*beats Willing with a boquet of roses and then hands them to her as a keepsake* :D

Sid, my man gets his fair share. I'm trying to do something *different*.

Oh, and um... *bump* for the morning crew. :D

I don't think I've gotten any flowers. Not sure what I'd think of them if I did. I don't think I've ever gotten anything but a card on V-day..
