Being a part time Floridian and now full time . I’ve seen my share of Hurricanes, Key West and Sandy ! So I’m going to give you some advice for making the best out of a Hurricane down here in Southeast Florida.
1) if Jim Cantore is in n you town, leave!
2) If the Waffle House is closed in your town-leave
3) if it’s a Cat 4-5. Leave. Yes generators are awesome to have but if your roof is missing, we’ll that is not going to help.
4) If your going to have a hurricane party, make sure it’s with people you can spend at least 48-72 hours with!
5) Beefaroni - Vodka - Xanax is what lived on for 7 days after Sandy… you mileage may differ so use as a suggestion!

While @MidnightRyder007 makes excellent points...I love that list... Don't forget... It's only a little bit of rain and wind....I am from Tampa born and raised... We will be fine!

I worked in Tampa in the mid-2000s. I assure you, Hurricane Charley was more than a little bit of rain and wind. Take caution. Fill your tub with water. Buy batteries. Or get the hell out of Tampa Bay.
