We were about forty miles from the eye and were very lucky. Almost no damage around us, and no flooding.

I made it through Charley! Yayyyyyy!! I live on the west of Orlando and it just missed us with the worst of it. We got lots of rain and wind. But we never lost power and it moved through pretty fast. I can breath now.

I have to say that I'm glad Charley turned right a few miles early, but I sure am sorry for the people who were in his path.

That evaced my area, but I stayed home.
sure as anything not a damn thing happened and I got to laugh at all my friends who came home from orlando and such.

Greetings Floroticans! Still a few missing and hope its because they are snug in their beds with another.
Its bright and sunny here in the SE.
For those of you who have been affected by the fury of nature, I send my prayers.
There was nothing meek about this storm and I think those who know this, realize just how blessed we were not to been witness to it.

We just got home from helping a few families that had their homes in Port Charlotte nearly destroyed. They were lucky.

There were many that ignored the evacuation order in some areas and as a result the death toll will be significant.

Hey I was in an evacuation zone for Pinellas living so close to the Gulf and only got to come home last night. I am so thankful it missed us but my heart and prayers go out to all of those not so lucky.

I can't understand how anyone living in a trailer could feel safe with that type of storm bearing down on the state. I would hope that if I was in a similar situation, I'd opt for the choice to save myself and my loved ones.
My heart goes out to those who have lost family and possessions.

Keeping their tragedy in the news will help them get more aid from good folks . It helped us with Andrew. I say keep that news and pics coming.......my brother's best friend had just put money down on a house in Punta Gorda......hope it's still there.
