You're from Dallas, huh? Me, I'm born and raised here. I've only spent 2 years away from southern Fla. and that was when I was married in the late 70's. Since then, I've remained here and watched it grow around me. I'm thinking its time for a change of sceney myself. I don't care for the direction this area is going in. Too many shallow people for my liking. But I digress..........
Its nice to see another south Floridian here.

Actually, originally I'm from NY (yeah, that's a rare thing in Florida). There are rather a lot of shallow people here, that's true. But I think that's true of many places, especially if there's money floating around like there is here.

And "normal" is a 4-letter word. Ha.

after some intense observation (abt 18yrs worth) i have finally some to the conclusion as to why it is soooooooooo impossible to find a man here. Thought I'd check in and see how others are doing 'round the state. Hope that those of you in the northern part of our fair land are getting some cooler weather, cuz we in the southern portion surely aren't. It certainly would be nice to wake up to a cool mistly morning instead of the heat and humidity we have. Perhaps in another month or so we'll cool off.

I had dinner there [Live Oak] Tuesday and slept a good night's sleep before jumping back on the road home after a long motorcycle road trip... It's not like you can miss it -- the signs are all over I-75 for it... And it seemed somehow just infinitely more desirable a place to call it a day than Valdosta
