Starry is screwed...the guys called and these computers will only run DOS.
IF we could find an old copy of Windows 95 maybe they would run. :(
So the people who accepted the donation were dumped on & never knew it.
I got dumped on by these while I was not able to walk :rolleyes:
so now I have to see if there is a recycling center for dead computers to get rid of these. :(

welcome to reality. I'm sure that business just thought cool we get a tax write off giving them to the reservist unit ladies & who cares what they do with them :rolleyes:

well I have no idea who they were. They dropped it on the reserve ladies, who dropped it on my reservist parents who helped me... but they had just lost their son in Afghanistan and didn't want anything troop related in their place so they dropped them on me and I couldn't walk during most of that time :( :rolleyes:

The guys are gonna try a couple fo things & if it doesn't work see what we can part out.

A problem is asking for old computers and then getting them. I have several that are virtually useless by today's standards. One day I might try to put linux on one, but in good conscience I could not dump them on anyone else. :)

The guys who run my game clan are trying bastardizing them this weekend to see if they can come up with anything that can be used. If not they said they would strip them out for parts & then recycle the rest.

The whole idea is to try & get the wounded guys stuck in the blast unit a way to be able to have contact with the outside world.

Thanks for not being rude & dumping them on anyone who is clueless. These were dumped on my reserve ladies who passed them over to the parents that helped me do game tournies. They lost their son last summer & don't want anything military in the house at this point (which I totally understand). They in turn dumped them over on me while I was in recovery. I tore an Achilles tendon & had surgery to replace it (9 months & 5 casts).

not so sure it's sexy but it I wear lined stockings no one would see the cut.
I was just lucky to have a new proceedure that made the cut smaller, the cast below my knee
and one of my doctors an XBox gamer with great hands! :nana:

well the final word just came in. the mother boards were never meant to run windows they are DOS only machines. So the guys are gonna part them out. See if they can ebay or recycle the stuff & take the money to make a donation to the blast unit/wounded warrior fund that helps them & their families. http://www.haleyhousefund.com/

the scar & cast came in handy during Gaspirilla this year. We had a bunch of the kids from the base down for the kiddy parade. They wanted to see the scar & touch it
so I took off the cast & the surgical stocking & let them. Better they see something like that in a fun enviroment then on a parent back from the pit.

It was very pirate like but no peg leg :cool:

he's looking for a local headhunter for me
the doc to taking more blood tomorrow and then arranging a cat scan on my sinus
the house sitting is til October. I have to go over once to twice a week :)

You're still having problems with sinuses? I thought that was b/c of the smoke???

I love house sitting - loads of fun! I keep encouraging my parents and sis to go out of town so I can housesit for them! hehehehe

Thanks for the offer ... I've realized very recently it doesn't really do any good to vent or complain or not be 'good' so I've rather made a promise to myself that I'm good from here on out.
