Not me, we went downtown to see a ship that was docked on the river and were stuck at The Landing for about an hour due to a bad storm. When we were finally able to get to the car we had to take an alternate route because the streets were flooded.

When we got to my neighborhood we found trees across the road, no power and the roof of my daughter's front porch was in my yard! (she lives three houses away from me.)

Our power was restored late this evening, we had dinner by candlelight, not as romantic as it sounds because the neighbors kept running in and out talking about the storm.

I guess tomorrow we will break out the chainsaw and do some clean-up. BIG mess!

&&& 1 of my neighbors was stranded on a sandbar a while ago, till the tide came back in. Thats why I'm so concerened about the storm. Turned out he was home when I heasrd the thunder, but I felt bad leavin him in the early pm. Even!!!!!!

My neighbor swears it was a tornado, but having lived in tornado alley most of my life I don't agree. We just had a good ole "West Texas style" windstorm along with the rain.

I'm glad your friend made it off of the sanbar and was at home before it hit!

they call them tornadoes here...they're more like wind spouts to me...but man, I've seen those wind spouts destroy a 'tin can' double wide trailer before...

lol, I know, one of the neighbors was telling me he had to retrieve his lawn chairs from down and across the road. I told him, "heck, back home if you aren't sitting in them they had better be anchored down or they could end up in the next town."

I think these little winds around here do so much damage because of this sandy soil. The trees don't have a good strong hold in the ground. Maybe we should ship in some of the clay from West Texas!
