there are 3 or 4 Florida threads & a few people from down in that south florida area but not one of them has been around for a while now...

Hi Florida folks,

Not an actually resident but, will be travelling there shortly (Fort Myers area with jaunts into Fort Lauderdale).

Would anyone have suggestions on things to do while I'm there? Good restaurants, neat shops, relaxing parks, fun clubs, whatever. Not so much touristy things unless they are "must-see".

Any suggestions appreciated, thanks for your consideration. :)

I recommend Sanibel Island ... just across the bridge from Ft. Myers.
