Now there's talk that the holes didn't line up correctly in the voting machines! Let the people in Palm County revote!

I'm just tired enough that I can follow the trail perfectly and vote for that True Blue Supporter of 100% Amurricans . . . Buchanan. Yup.

I'd better go to bed.

Isn't it funny that thousands could find the right hole to punch and yet because a handfull who couldn't find their hole in a phonebooth with written directions screwed up, allegedly, that now their crying"do-over"???

20,000 PEOPLE, NOT A HANDFUL!

There's alot we aren't hearing from the news media about the ballots as well, that people weren't able to get replacement ballots when they made a mistake, that the holes didn't line up right in the booth, that the directions in the newspaper and on the ballot were bad. I'm not saying there should be a re-vote, but we should wait for the investigation and find out what really happened before making a decision. If the only problem was the ballot then I think that's too bad for Gore. The Dems agreed it, and it's their own fault. I think its a travesty if the country voted for Gore but Bush becomes president because of some campaign workers in one county.

Regarding the whole ballot issue:

I personally find it ironic that the same people who
thought George W. Bush was too stupid to be President, <Democrats for the most part>
are the same ones who were too stupid to fill out a ballot
properly.

Coupla' Questions

1. If they're too stupid to find the right hole to punch, how come, after it's over and done, they're brilliant enough to remember they punched the wrong hole?

2. If these people are too stupid to be able to figure out a simple ballot that's been used other places successfully in machines they've been using for years, how come they're smart enough to be trusted with the awesome responsibility of choosing someone to lead them? (apparently they should be choosing a seeing-eye do, not a President)

3. If they're too stupid to do it right, why don't they quit whining and be man enough to shut up and take the responsibli8ty for their own stupidity?

4. And finally, isn't there anyone in this country any longer who is responsible for their own actions besides me?

ROTFLMAO

Even though I no longer hold alleigence to either one of the two major parties, I think the democrats are taking this a little too far.

Nobody really knows all of the facts, and a liberal controlled media keeps condemning the republicans over the "controversy". Frankly, they have all got the voters in Florida excited to the point where a minor incident has become the biggest news story of the year.

I know this is going to sound awful, but it is pretty easy to get senior citizens riled over ANYTHING.

If you could not figure out the butterfly ballot, something is wrong with you--period. Better luck next time.

Hi Unclebill. I'm responsible for my own actions! :)

Gore was supposed to be the second button.

It was a badly designed ballot. That may be why there was so much confusion and so many complaints. On every ballot I've ever seen, the two major candidates are one and two. If you look at the left side of the ballot, it looks like Bush and Gore are one and two. I don't think you have to be stupid to make a mistake there, though if you do take your time you can figure it out. The polling place was crowded and and people were in a hurry. Who hasn't filled in the wrong dot on a test before, with all those little dots pretty close together? Kind of the same thing, really. Since the Democrats approved the ballot, I don't think it'll matter though. They don't really have a case.

I wan't to retake my SAT's because I distintly remember coloring the wrong circle for that Rhombus question. And if I pick the wrong lottery numbers, can I still have the money?

Uncle Bill, me too!

I'm telling you Snoppy would have done the best darn job!!

Snoopy's "If you can't fuck it piss on it." motto would have been better than any of the other candidates!!

(He never said it just did it, so you can't get him for cussing, so there, Snoopy is one smart DOG!!!)

Quality control was the Motto of the early ninety's. Then cost control at all costs took over.

Well they saved money on designing the Florida ballets and didn’t do the quality checking they should have.

Just one person or groups lack of quality control certainly couldn't mean the difference in a presidential election! (Or could it??)

Sure it was a buit confusing. Im sure you ahve all seen the ballot so no nned to describe it.

But please, there were arrows pointing to the proper hole to punch.

Anyone who took a moment and actually paid attention to what they were doing could have figured that out.

From a Floridian that knows who she voted for!

I'm not saying they should get to vote again.

All's I'm saying is it would be easy to make a mistake on that type of ballot. You wouldn't have to be mentally retarded to make a mistake. If anything, they should update their voting technology!

Just a thought....
Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large groups.

have a do over....
you know of course there is "no controling legal athourity."

unless you want to bring up the constitution. No can't do that it would'nt benifit the democrates... this time

This is not a little league ball game where you don't keep score and everybody wins....(invented by liberals) right now were all losers...

I agree. I mentioned elsewhere, the voting machines that Clark County Nevada went to a few years ago. They're almost as complicated as warming a cup of coffee in a microwave oven, and more accurate than the IBM punch card ballots used elsewhere. Clark County, Nevada is one of the few places that a recount will give you exactly the same numbers every time.

I've used the machines that Florida uses in the past, and it does require some care to make sure the holes match the candidate's numbers. However, if you simply pay attention to what you're doing, no one should have a problem with them.

Technology has reached a point where an official tally is possible as soon as the cast vote button is pressed. Only money keeps the entire country from being capable of certifying an election as soon as the polls close. (Saving the snail mail system and absentee ballots. Even there, the technology exists to speed the process considerably.)

“Insert tab A into slot B”

Something we sexual heidons should all be aware of, yes? BTW – I obviously like ‘Bush’. And I’m willing to fight for it ; )

But seriously, can we stand 4 years of ‘Bore’? (I admit, I’m anti ever since the PMRC. Call it my right to be rude. RIP Frank Zappa). And furthermore (ok, I’ll put down my drink now) hey, if I don’t take the time to make sure something that’s important to me - is ACCURATELY recorded – I deserve to be discounted. End of story.

“I’m confused by the hole to stick it in…….. DOH, sorry babe. I meant to punch Bush.” Comprende?
