Fix a shoe?

your diseased ravings are absolutely priceless. do go on, tell me more about me, moronic troglodyte.

seriously james, if you really wanna suck my dick that badly, then fucking make an offer or just shut the fuck up, skank. either that, or i'll have to set about making you my bitch.

Your whole life can be summed up with this: 3 STRIKES AND NO BALLS.

If it's a good shoe, take it to the shoe repair person. If you fix it yourself it's going to be uneven and kill you when you walk. I have no doubt that it you do it yourself they will become uncomfortable and it will be painful to walk. And don't go to some shitty shoe repair guy either. A good repair isn't always cheap, though a heel shouldn't be too much. I would suspect $30, if he does both heels.

For reference, a pair of dress shoes cost me about $130 to get re-soled. So a heel should be significantly cheaper.

You now have me wondering if a shoe repair place and replace the entire heel. New puppy just chewed up the entire heel of my favorite patent leather heels. Damn dog!

[laughs] I don't know if this guy is good, but he is the only one within 50 miles of me, so fingers crossed!

Take your shoes or boots to a reputable shoe cobbler.... They have all the proper tools and adhesives... http://www.redwing**********/red-wing-store-finder

or yellow pages...I know, what is a yellow pages... that thing called a phone book...

my reason for a cobbler....not just proper tools, they have better replacement heels or soles than original...plus polish to a Corp shine.

All my years in construction, I finally learned, how important your feet are..Red wing boots, I still have mine, only replaced the in-soles and the lugs.

even my wife's designer shoes were repaired by my cobbler. fixing heels and soles, in my opinion....not a do-it-yourself. Plus, you screw it up... it cost more to replace them...

I'll be honest, this is one of the reasons why I bring my boots/shoes to the cobbler. The shine itself will pass the most stringent military inspection (at least, according to my brother who serves).

Yes this! I take bags full of shoes to my shoe repair guy. It's inexpensive and they come back polished too! They can do just the heel tips or replace the entire front sole as well (had this done twice with my favorite boots)
I've even taken leather purses in for restiching.

Yeah, I love watching them polish the shoes on that big buffing machine thing!

If you own any quality, or super comfy shoes or boots, a good cobbler is definitely an asset. Like a good dentist or car mechanic, it's not someone you see often, but you are glad they are around when needed.

I've never once had a pair of shoes repaired.

Neither have I. In fact it is probably going to cost more than they are worth. But damn, they are the most comfortable pair of heeled boots. I can wear them all day long without any problem.

Really? Wow. My guy makes custom shoes too (clown shoes, theatre production, etc.) I also deal in vintage clothing and shoes so I often have brittle heel tips replaced before I sell. Heel tips should only be $10-20 the front sole $30-40
Once I took in a pair of cheep boots where the heel had become wobbly, and he told me they weren't worth the repairs. Haha, I love honesty!

If you love your boots, if they are comfortable, then it might be worth re-soleing them. Remember, good shoes are hard to find, and by re-resoleing the boots, they will last for another several years.

It might be worth it.

to the HT regulars: seriously, WTF is wrong with all of you? do you somehow not fucking realize that JBJ and cock star are trolls that you continue to enable by engaging these troglodytes? you all seem to have gotten the message about hussar van buren, so WTF?!

it's a good reminder to help answer the question of why i don't spend much time here anymore.

for fuck's sake, people: just say no to trolls. it's not that fucking hard!

I was hoping to avoid that since it takes an hour to get into town. Damn and blast!

Are we neighbors? I thought I lived in the middle of nowhere. I'm 45 miles through mountain passes to walmart.

A pair of boots broken in to YOUR feet I think are better than custom made, your foot formed them. I'd fix them.

I live about 30 mins away from town but for things like this I need to go into the city. The big, baaaad city. [laughs]
