As for fisting, it isn't the size of the vaginal canal that seems to be an issue, at least not in my experience. The challenge is getting past the pelvis, which usually happens with patience. Also, as a pointer, if she is on all fours or squatting and he allows her to press down upon his hand to break that barrier, it can be less stressful and more likely to happen.

Also, pressing your four fingers together at the tips, so your hand is shaped like a pyramid is more likely to gain entrance. Perhaps, "fisting" is a misleading term as the "fisting" doesn't happen until after the hand is inside? Or perhaps we are doing it wrong?

You'd be surprised at the vagina's ability to stretch. I've fisted two different women and been able to have satisfying sex with them (meaning, they weren't so huge down there that my average sized cock didn't feel really good going in and out). Don't forget that during pregnancy a woman's body goes through a LOT of changes. One of those changes is that her pelvis widens and the cartilage holding it together loosens. Thus, when she goes into labor, the opening in the pelvis actually becomes larger to accomodate the baby. After delivery, the tissues reform and the pelvis becomes more rigid.

Exactly. Just because a baby can pass during childbirth that does not mean the birth canal is ALWAYS prepared to open that wide.

If a woman isn't pregnant and close to childbirth, she's not going to have the hormones that allow something that large to pass through the birth canal.
