So much to catch up on after a short time away from Lit . . . trips without 'net access can really suck sometimes. Not that the trip was bad, but playing catch up's rough.

College football plays a huge role in the economy of the university's towns, though. So I guess it is kind of important...even though it's just a game.

To some extent. Depends on the town and the school. However, when the football coach's yearly salary is higher than my entire department's annual budget (English department, btw) . . .

Anyway, something lighter . . . Princess Bride, excellent movie and book. Both very different experiences and both interesting in the classroom.
