Hey Mike! Ready to take the plunge aye? 
Sounds like a cop out, but I don't think there is any one best way. It's what's best for you. I'm a bullet/list guy, so my answers are:
1. First be safe, practice safe sex....I'm sure you know the routine but use a condom for riskier types of sex and it doesn't hurt to do a little internet research either as there is misinformation out there still.
2. Don't fool around with married guys. This a personal judgement on my part, but bringing their infidelity into your experience won't feel good. Find someone who's single, or as you say a couple
3. Some people want to wait for just the right connection, just the right fit. Some people like to hop into bed and have the experience. Take a bit of time to think about it and find what's right for you.
4. To the heart of your qeustion: I think it's easier with another (just one) caring guy the first time. It will most likely feel less intimidating.

Which is the best way
This is strange the thought of a nice person who will look after you and be careful is nice but does that mean it would involve a kiss may be it is the 2nd surgestion and bite the pillow I am even more confused now but strangly excited

Dont bite the pillow,it may put you off forever.Find a nice gentle top to make it a time to remember.Had a nice guy for my first time and it didn't involve a kiss (wasn't sure if I would like it).Go out find a nice guy and enjoy your first time. Have fun but be safe. Wish I was closer.
