Hi all.
I could really use some help. The more I read over this piece, the worse it sounds to me. I've tried to work on it myself, but I just can't get it straightened out. I write from experience, so no plot or character development needed (I hope!) I tend to have issues with overall flow, sentence structure, and choice of words. Lots of dashes and "..." thingies. I know what I want to convey, just not how to say it. Can you follow that? Entangled in my own words and ideas? Sheesh, that's terrible. I haven't written in a very long time, and am completely disgusted with myself at the moment. This piece may not even be worth submitting! Oh, and I'm not even sure which category it would fall into, or what the title should be. I just really need a fresh set of eyes... or a brain transplant!
This is very, very mild in comparison to most submissions I find here. Just wetting my toes a little for now. Maybe too vague or boring for this site... hmmm... think I'm getting cold feet.
Anyway, here are some of the stats as it sits now, just in case that helps.

Flesch reading ease: 77.4
Flesch-Kincaid grade level: 5.5
