Hi all, I've just posted my first story and it's getting great reviews. My problem is that I wrote it with the intention of adding chapters, but I don't think I could improve on the story. I've always disliked stories and novels that left me hanging, because when I buy into a story and it ends it's almost like losing a friend.

I'm getting email requests for a continuation and am looking for opinions on whether that's a good idea. I've written a good portion of the next chapter, but I could re-write it into a stand alone story.

My Story: The Negative Seduction

I don't know why no one has responded to you yet, man, but it sure has nothing to do with the quality of your story. That is an amazing amazing piece. Amateur? Not a bit. Not only is it hot; it has well-developed details, which makes sense if it is based on a true story. I am gay, and still I am turned on by your descriptions of Linda - those breasts, those curves, the feeling of penetrating her engorged pussy. Amazing. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks Loner, yep my first erotic story, and I haven't ever written professionally. That's the problem for me here, I'm getting emails asking for part II, and I've actually written most of it, but I don't know if I want to risk dragging part I down. That's just a lack of confidence, because I had misgivings about the story I posted. Teloz, a wonderful editor and budding friend, helped tremendously.

I'm getting the requests, but who do I write for, the readers or myself? Is it critical to maintain the level of the first part? That story was easy because I lived it, embellishments aside. :)

It's Monday for God's sakes, give the people a chance. Some of them even have Real Lives. :D

Do people still do things on the weekend in this recession? I've resigned myself to the mundane and spend most days lying on the beach bikini watching. It's tough, but at least it's fee.

I would write for yourself, if you can enjoy it, then like-minded readers will do so as well.

I really liked your story; I am crap at constructive or critical literary feedback so this probably not going to be particularly helpful- but I always think a decent erotic stories works either because it has been written with such conviction that it sounds near to non-fictional, or because it adopts a successfully stylised tone. I felt the story fell into the former camp - so, 'tis good, says I.

I don't know how a second chapter, good or bad, can drag a good one down. You have the second half written, so it sounds like you've pretty much answered your own question. Write it for yourself. If, in the end, and after a couple of friends/editors have read it, you think you should post it, then do.

I know those evil voices telling you that you can't. Their cousins live in my head, too. That's why you need a couple other readers to give you feedback. You need the encouragement. It's very unlikely that, having written a great first story, your second will be bad. I don't think it works that way. Besides, your first is rather short, you have a lot of story left!

Go for it! :D You know you wanna!

Thanks DH, when all else fail just ad more sex. I was lucky and picked up an awesome editor on the first swing, and I've decided to finish and send the second one through editing process. It's funny, now that I'm writing I'm finding story ideas popping up in the strangest places. I believe I am getting the bug.

Slowride:

Like you I too am more of a in depth fiction with naughty bits erotic writer.

I liked your story.

I too am not a professional writer and enjoyed your story immensely!

I hope you can find the courage or the ideas to continue with these characters.

Do you have a blog that you share some of your stories on?

I'd love to read more.

Thanks KJ. I've got several going, but should have chapter 2 of this one up in about 10 days. I think I'm writing erotica, well because I like it, but more so because I can cut my teeth with the story writing while still keeping the story interesting with the romance and sex.

I don't have a blog for this medium. I'm more into sports and political commentary. If I write enough I may put one up.

I've gotten requests to a chapter 2 to a story I wrote with my old profile (subtract the 2), and of course, as I have a story for it in my mind, I'm left to wonder if people will actually like it, as most sequels (think movies) start off differently than the original. Especially after a two year gap.

Honestly though, if you don't feel like writing the sequel, write something else that you want to write. Or don't write at all.

If you want to write a next section then go for it, if not, then write something else. I'm sure the people who are asking for part 2 will like other things.

We're not getting paid so have fun and do what you like. :)
