That's just Star Trek in general though. The fleet is in danger, Spock has an existential crisis, Scotty saves the day at the very last minute. Every. Single. Episode.

I really really really really really hope there's a scene where they have to go down to a planet and a guy in a red shirt gets picked to go and he says "fuck." Worth the price of admission right there.
