First line...

Those are the hard ones to write, because you only know how you hope they'll turn out :)

I've done it once... 'Michelle's Story'... I learned a very important lesson with it.

Disconnect the fingers from the brain and let the subconcious take over.

Michelle tells me stuff about the story that I didn't know I knew about her. It's obvious the part is in the story intentionally, but I don't get why. Just comes from years of conversations and being in the room while she does stuff, your concious mind does not remember but it's in you somewhere.

I'm still trying to see you as a maid of honor . . . :p

As for the story of my wife . . . Maybe some day. I don't know. I never say never, still . . . maybe some stories are best experienced, and not told ;)
Honey, we wore champagne one shoulder gowns, slit al-l-l-l the way up one side and a column down the other- floor length with black opera gloves- like the Supremes. I really did feel like a drag queen that day! :D

And about your wife and that story, you're right- we like to say "It's about the process"

I have some anecdotes that I have never been able to get down on paper, although I can tell them. party because they don't necessarily have an ending or any meaning- just--- like the time the Russian maid in a French hotel went crazy and terrorized the guests until dawn....

LOL . . . you know, I can actually see that.

Funny you should mention the Supremes.

My wife's bridesmaids all wore hunter-green silk gowns with gold sashes and full-length gloves. Yellow was Cherry's favorite color.

After the ceremony, the seven of them lined up and sang "Stop! In The Name Of Love" . . . The three members of my groom's party who were gay joined in ;)

Best day of my life.

As the bridesmaids stood neatly in a row I desperately wanted them to burst into song.

Don't think any of my first lines are particularly outstanding.

These two are pretty ordinary:
There were days when life really sucked and this was fast turning into one of them. (Sanctuary)
Steve opened his eyes, quickly realising it had not been a dream – he really was tied up. (Doing It Her Way)
This one's not too awful:
It was time to go. It wasn't fun anymore, and if it wasn't fun, what else was there? (Unnatural Progression)
My personal favourite is not the first line, but the first 2 pars:
Valentine's Day: the day of roses and hearts and chocolates and romantic candlelit dinners. When people proposed marriage and professed undying love.

Arabella sighed, staring unseeing into her bowl of cornflakes as they succumbed to their milky grave and turned to soggy goop. (Office Joke)
