I have a problem !!!
I signed up this month and started my first erotic story. It is also my first attempt at writing fiction.
Since my first draft I have had to go back and do small changes here and there as the characters personalities become more defined. The forward progress is at a snails pace because of these changes along the way.
Does anyone have suggestions on how to overcome this problem?

Please feel free to e-mail, PM or use the BB here if you wish.

Well, I not sure how stellar this advice is, but I can tell you that it sounds like the normal writing process to me.

I have rewriten every story I have attempted. Even the ones that I think are really good. My oldest is probably 5 or 6 years, and I refine it each time I look at it.

Hell, even my story thread posts here get 'worked' on for at least an hour or so before posting. Even the shorter ones, if I feel the story is important I want to do the best possible for it. Rewriting, adding, removing.

My M.O. is to work a story until I am pleased with it and then pass it around. To my sig. other, my friends and lastly to the Lit folks. With all the feedback I get, I usually update or change one more time.

Sounds like you are well on your way! Best advice I can give is don't get discouraged and do not give up!!

And welcome to Lit !!

Doa search on the "Author's Hangout" Board - a lot of people have run into this problem, and there is a lot of good advice there.

Someone very wise once said, "There is no such thing as good writing, only good re-writing."

re-writes!

Thanks for the feedback Harold. I've kinda been hearing a voice telling me that.

wishin there was a trade secret:rolleyes:

re-writes!

Thanks lasciviously_yours:

The explanation of your writing process was very helpful. As an ex-photojournalist I guess I need to break the old habit of rushing to beat the deadline.
