First Day Jitters

Dante thanked Alexia for showing him around town, but headed back to class. He could probably get away with skipping one on the first day, but his dad would be pissed if he missed the rest of the day. He got her cellphone number so he could get a hold of her about the carnival later and kicked himself when he realized he hadn't gotten Leilana's. Hopefully she'd be there on time..
He got back to the school just in time for gym, which wasn't a participation day as the coach laid out all the clothing and what not they'd need for the semester. Sounded like they'd be playing basketball. That made Dante smile though he doubted they'd play street rules like he was used to. The day crawled by but the bell finally rang. Dante headed home to get ready for the evening. When he got there his Mom was chatting up one of the neighbor ladies but greeted him when he walked in.
"Honey, come in here, i want you to meet Mrs. Jennings, she's our new neighbor." He shook the older lady's hand.
"Nice to meet you ma'am" He said.
"How was the first day of school honey?" She asked.
"Pretty boring, just a lot of teacer jawing, but I did manage to get a pseudodate for the evening." He smiled at his mom, she had always been there to support him, even when he was doing stupid shit to fuck his life up.
"Already? My son, he doesn't waste no time." She said to her new neighbor as Dante ran upstairs to his room. It was mostly unpacked but there were still a few boxes he had to go through. He put his stuff down and lay on the bed, deciding to just chill out till about 6:30. He grabbed his Ipod and put his headphones on, laying back and thinking about how this place might not be too bad after all.

Joshua Richens

Joshua slowly turned into his driveway as he aligned his side mirrors of his civic with the mirrors of his father's Toyota Forerunner. He stepped out of his car rather exhausted after being scold at by the school's vice prinicpal, Mrs. Paul. Joshua rang the doorbell to have his father open the front door to the house. After a couple of rings his father flinged the door open. He listened to his son as he entered the house uttering with a sigh.
"What is the matter son?" asked his father.
"Nothing dad, just leave it. I had somewhat of an emotional day," referring to his anger he felt after gazing Leilana with this black guy from Brooklyn.
"Alright son, if you need anything I'll be by the back of the house. I'm planning on installing a new air conditoner after your mother brings the tools," said Joshua's father as he paced himself into the backyard. Joshua dropped his backpack from his shoulder onto the foyer and gradually forced himself up the thirteen step stairs. He dragged himself into the bathroom and closed the door. Joshua stared at himself on the bathroom mirror. "Boy, don't I feel like smacking someone's ass tonight," smirked Joshua as he pulled his t-shirt over his head. "I entered a class I wasn't actually in, sat next to her, acted like I was about to learn, chatted with her and her new boyfriend and after about twenty minutes, left the class. Could that have been the best twenty minutes of my life or some stupid stunt I pulled," he joked smiling to himself.
Out of nowhere, Joshua's younger brother stormed through the bathroom door.
"Alex! What're you doing! Get the fuck out of here. Can't you see I'm in the bathroom you little squirt," yelled Joshua not concerned about his language to a eleven year old boy.
"Josh, can you please take me to the carnival. It's happening tonight. I want to go there Josh. Take me Josh," begged Alex.
"What?! Go ask mom. I don't want to go to some little kids carnival," shouted Joshua looking into the mirror away from Alex.
"It isn't for only little kids. There things for adults too. Josh please take me. Mom said she's busy tonight with dad and you have a car so you can just drop me off. Please Josh!" said Alex continuing to beg.
"Alright Alex, I'll take you only on one condition."
"What?" asked Alex giving a soft smile.
"I'll drop you off and pick you up at 10 but you can't tell mom or dad that I left you alone at the carnival. Deal?" Joshua extended his arm to shake for the deal.
"Deal!" jumped Alex, shaking his older brother's arm.
"Now get out! I need to take a piss," shouted Joshua as he slightly pushed Alex out the room and slammed the door shut.
"I love my brother," smiled Alex as he skipped happily to his room.

Larry went outside of the school, and climbed into his truck. He started the engine, putting his backpack on the seat beside him. He started the drive home, stopping at a few red lights, and witnessing a squad car pull over a speeder. He shook his head, wondering why people did things like running red lights and speeding. It made little sense to him. He stopped at the grocery store on the way, and picked up a few things. Some milk, fruits, and a package of chicken breasts. He also picked up a bottle of teriyaki sauce, and then paid for the food. He set the bags in the back seat, and headed home again. He pulled into the driveway of his mother's house, and honked the horn, before getting out and grabbing the bags and his backpack. He went inside, setting the chicken in the refrigerator and the other food in the cupboards. He then stretched, and looked around. "Looks like Mom's not home."

It was rounding 5:30 plenty of time to get dinner on the table and eat before getting ready to leave. Which Lana had done currently. She had the food set out, and called to anyone interested. Her father had already kicked the teenager out of the house by now and simply went back to his room to sleep off the after effects. Sometimes she wondered why she even bothered with that old man, he was perverted beyond anything she'd ever seen. So long as he kept his hands to himself. "Dad dinner..." she called.

Heading for the window she noted her mother had yet to come home. Leaving her to feed the mongrel alone. Sure enough her pops came into the room looking dodgy from his earlier activities. "Eat." she said and set a plate on the table for him. She however did not stay for dinner and in fact went to the bathroom to get cleaned up. She didn't have time to endulge her father with a semi-family dinner.

Joshua Richens

Joshua looked himself in the mirror then tilted his head down towards his baggy jeans that were down to half his thighs. He witnessed a lump on his black boxers that stuck out. Leilana was strictly on his mind at that moment and this lump had formed. Joshua rolled open a drawer and grabbed a tube of lubricating cream. He slid his boxers to his knees and applied some of that cream to one of his hands and then rubbed both hands together.

"Ahhh yeahh!"

The rest of Dante's day went pretty slowly. His mom grilled him about what he going to do tonight and he explained he was going to go to a carnival with a couple of friends he'd made at school. She narrowed her eyes and then laughed. "Boy that's so outrageous I know you can't be lying." She laughed and kissed him on the cheek. he just shrugged. "When in Rome right ma?" He said, rising off his bed and putting his music away. He tried to do a little of his schoolwork after that, some of hte reading, but it was all boring crap anyway. He put the book away and decided to go outside to shoot some hoops.

He stepped out of the shower an hour later and saw it was closing in on six thirty. He dried himself off, and went to his closet to pick out some clothing. He threw on a pair of jeans and a t-shirt and sprayed some body deodrant on under everything. He bounded down the stairs and stopped in the kitchen, grabbing an apple and saying goodbye to his mom, then he headed down to the highschool to wait for Leilana and Alexia. He got there a few minutes early so contented himself to sit on the steps and stare at the setting sun while he waited.

The yelling just wouldn't stop. You mention one little thing and it seems the whole world comes crumbling down over you. Leilana sat in her room hiding from the wrath of her father who was still ranting after her mother had returned home. All was fine for a while, until her mother had found left behind underwear and of course they would be found thrown in her father's face.

Lana wondered why her mother even bothered with such anctics. Pack up and leave...and take me with you, she had thought. Taking a peek at her clock it read 6:30 which was plenty of time to get a shower, dressed and out the door. Of course not before her father decided it was her fault for his being caught.

"Where are you going?"

"To the carnival..."

"No you arent. Not tonight... you'll stay here. Its your fault your mother is like this."

"The hell...no it isn't. You let that girl in here..." she replied but then thought better, "Why am I arguing with you?" Slamming the screen in his face she hurried down the path and headed for school. Arguing with him was on level with a 2 year old who simply had no range of vocabulary.

Once she got to the school grounds she looked around, not finding Dante off hand. Part of her wondered if he had forgotten, but when he came into view a smile spread across her face and she jogged over to him, catching her breath once she touched down. "You made it."

"I'm ready Josh," said Alex waiting at the front door. Joshua stepped down the stairs and told his father who was eating a small beef patty that they were going to take the car to a carnival. His father gave permission as if he fully trusted Joshua. Alex stuck to his word and told that Joshua would take care of me. Joshua jammed his feet into his black Nike Air Force 1 and lead Alex and himself out the front door onto their massive porch.

He laughed and winked at her. "I wouldn't have missed it. You look out of breath. Want to chill for a few before we head over?" He asked, noticing the anger on her face but interpreting it as something else. Alexia called me and said she was running late, and would meet us over there if she could." He shrugged slightly. "It was a little selfish of me to think I had a right to having two girls as cute as you escorting me anyhow." He laughed and offered her a seat next to him on the steps. "This has been a very odd day for me, first time in a while I've been to almost all of school and now I find myself back at school after hours."

Lana shook her head smiled. "No we don't have to sit and wait. I was just a little outta breath from the jog. Lets walk ahead..." she said taking Dante by the hand.

"So how was the rest of your day? Did you find your classes okay?"

He smiled as she took him by the hand, standing up and walking with her. "It was an alright first day all things considered. I didn't make it to biology, Alexia showed me around the town instead. Seems like a nice little place. Everyone's so friendly too! It's so much different than anything I'm used to." He shrugged. "So ummm I've never actually been to a carnival before.. what exactly is there to do?" He laughed, slightly embarrassed at his own naivete of small town living.

"I suppose its like a kiddie amusement park. Knott's Berry Farm, Magic Moutain... Universal Studios. Add in the smuffs and you got yourself a carnival." she giggled a bit going over in her mind the things they had. "they have rides and attractions, food venders, booths with various vender types. There's usually a dance toward the end of the night. And they let off fireworks around that time too..." she chuckled and leaned in to him a bit. "The fireworks are to warn the parents about the end of the carnival so kids will get their butts home and not run off elsewhere."

Lasping into silence the streets began to slowly light up as the carnival came into view. There were various rides much like a state fair but not as eleborate. Kids screaming their fun, parents trying to keep hold of their young ones. Food venders, shops, attractions and plenty to do. "What would you like to do first. Rides or food?" she asked despite not being hungry she wouldn't mind getting a few sweet treats if he decided upon food.

Alexia had decided to walk to the school instead of drive her Lexus. It was a nice night out and the sunset had been spectacular. Thats one of the reason she had fallen in love with this little town that her father had moved her too. It was a small town full of people that didn't know anything about her, so that meant questions about her mother. Alexia was glad to move away from Gatlinburg after her mother was in the car accident and killed, there was no one in this town that knew what happened to her mother. So that meant, no one to constantly ask Alexia how she was or tell Alexia how sorry they were for her loss. Things were easier for Alexia but, at the same time, things were also more difficult. She sighed softly and walked into the school parking lot, " Dang, I missed them! Ah well, I'll catch up." She smiled to herself some as she headed in the direction of the carnival.

"Ahhhh so it's sort of like a mini Astroland like on Coney Island? I used to love going their when I was a ride, riding the Cyclone coaster. We'd go there for my birthdays and sometimes in the summer." He smiled as thought about home again, then sighed. "I really need to stop thinking about New York all the time, Nebraska is where I live now and I just need to start thinking about getting out and finding stuff to do here, not living in the past." He chuckled. "Though I still am going to run back home as soon as possible." He smiled at her. "A dance eh? That could be fun, but I forgot my cowboy hat. Just kidding."

He lapsed into silence as they walked, just enjoying the pleasure of a crisp clean night air and the pleasure of having a pretty girl as company. They finally arrived at the carnival and Dante looked around taking it all in. "It's louder than I expected." He commented, as a screaming group of little kids went running by. His stomach groaned as she mentioned food, he hadn't gotten around to having dinner, telling his mom he'd grab something here. "Actually food sounds friggin fantastic right now, I haven't had anything but an apple since breakfast today." They walked to the one of the vendor's and he bought himself a corndog and curly fries and bought her a caramel apple. They went and sat down and one of Lana's friends spotted them and came over. She was introduced to Dante and then the two of them started chatting them up. Dante felt something in this pants vibrate and looked down to see his cell was ringing. He didn't recognize the number but answered anyway. "Hello?"

Alexia laughed slightly at the confusion in his voice, " Hey it's me, Alexia. Where are ya'll? I think I've walked around the carnival at least 5 times." She laughed some more then kept walking around the ferris wheel as Dante did his best to describe to her where they were sitting. " Ok sit tight. I'mma find ya'll." She hung up with him and put her cell phone back into her pocket then made her way towards the nearest vendor that sold caramel apples. She smiled and waved when she spotted Leilana, Dante and one of Leilanas friends. Alexia sat down next to Dante and smiled, " This is a pretty fun time huh?"

Dante waved at Alexia as he saw her walking around trying to find them. "Sorry about that, probably not the best idea for the newbie to be trying to give the directions." He smiled as she sat down next to him. Lana turned and said hello but went back to talking to her friend.
"Yeah I've been having a good time, we just got here though, I didn't get around to getting at home so we're grabbing some grub before we hit anything else up. Glad you made it, thought maybe I was getting my first blow-off on my first night here. That would have broke my sensitive heart!" He chuckled and took another bite of his corndog.

Joshua Richens

OOC: Sorry to tell you this but I'm going to pull myself and the character Joshua out of this thread. Since it was my first time, I just tried this to get a hang of Literotica's srp. I didn't know this story would extend past one day since it's titled 'first day' jitters. Sorry for the inconvenience and I hope well for all of you to make this thread very successful. Take it easy.

IC: It was about five minutes past 7 and Joshua took the wheel of his car and turned out of his driveway. He had one hand on the steering wheel and the other on the gear shifter. Alex was fond of his brother for taking him to the carnival. Joshua didn't really care since he didn't have to attend the carnival himself and supervise Alex. Joshua slowly signaled to the left lane and entered. The traffic light was about to turn from amber to red, therefore he sped up to make the turn. As he turned, a speeding BMW going at about 60 mph, who was also trying to get through the intersection before the lights turned red struck the passenger side of Joshua's car. A witness called 911 to report a serious car crash. The fire truck, police and ambulance all came to the scene, however since there was no fire or any risk of fire the fire department left the scene after about 15 minutes. The sherieff was acknowledged by the paramedic that the driver had died on the spot because he decided not to buckle into his seatbelt and the little boy is in serious condition and is being taken to the nearby hospital.
