First Day Jitters (Open)

OOC: Just a fun little highschool thread, open to whoever wants in
Dante Cottrell
Age:18
Height: 5'11
Weight: 170lbs.
black hair, blue eyes

A new student to Flat Plains Highschool Dantes family moved to the midwest from New York because his dad got an amazing offer to be the head lawyer for a large farming combine. Unable to pass up the chance to make enough money to retire in less than ten years if he so chooses he dragged his family from the familiar settings of Brooklyn to the plains of Nebraska. Dante was pissed, determined to return to New York as soon as possible. Still though, the country air was nice and the people were friendly, if he had to spend a year here he may as well at least try to enjoy himself.

IC:
Dante swore, he was late for class, on the first day nonetheless. He wasn't used to the quiet out here in the country and had relied on his innerclock to wake him up, but the trip from New York and the exhaustion of unpacking had made him oversleep and now he was running through the school, desperately searching for his first classroom. "Should be right around this corner." He panted as he turned, moving so quickly he almost slid out on the floor. 105, there we go he thought as he grabbed the handle to the door throwing it open. "Sorry I'm late, I'm new here and got a bit lost." He said apologetically as he nearly fell through the doorway, taking in the scene of the classroom around him.

Jamie Johnson
18
shoulder length brown hair
brown eyes
slim figure but curvy ass and 34 DD breasts
Lived in Nebraska all her life, loves the people but craves a lively lifestyle and someone to whisk her away to the big city (NY)

IC:
Jamie heard the bang of the door as it hit the wall and jumped a little as she took in the form as a man ran through the door and collided with her as she went up to the desk to get to the bin

"whoa!"

she exclaimed as his strong arms came around her to stop her from falling and allso to maintain his own balance

"i dont think we've met, im jamie"

she smiled up at him, her brown eyes meeting his blue ones

Dante cringed as he crashed through the door. He saw the girl in front of him and knew he wouldn't be able to stop in time. He tried to lurch to the side, but still smacked into her. He reached out to stop himself from falling and found his arms latched around her. He blushed, his dark skin hiding it well. "Sorry about that. I'm Dante, I'm new." He said as he detangled himself and looked around the classroom, noticing the teacher wasn't even there yet. He wasn't even late. He swore softly under his breathe. Not the best first impression. He sighed. This wouldn't have happened back in New York he thought to himself. Then again Dante probably wouldn't have been in class back in NY, but his father had given him an ultimatium, no skipping class and maintain a B or better average or you can't play football.

He sighed and took a seat in the middle on the far row, next to an empty seat. He buried his head in his hands and shook his head. He examined the girl he had run into from between his arms. She was pretty damn fine he thought to himself, letting his eyes run up and down her body, quickly forcing them down to look at the desk as she turned back towards him after throwing something out. It was going to be a long first day he thought to himself gloomily.

Leilana entered the room shortly after the commotion, having missed it she had no idea what had transpired and went to go sit in her usual seat. It just so happened someone was seating next to her this day. She didn't mind it so much but it looked to be someone new. With a soft sigh she made her way over, mild meek and a little more than timid the girl only fancied Dante with a quick flash of her golden orbs before a soft blush came to her cheeks and forced her eyes away.

Leilana Weston
Age:18
Height: 5'3"
Weight: 110lbs
Long brown hair, golden eyes, supple skin, curvacious.

Leilana, is a bit shy at times, timid and reclusive but once she ventures from her shell she's lively and bubbly ready to make friends. She's been at the school since the dawn of time, or at least for as long as she can remember, having grown up locally. She wants to graduate and get out of the country and travel the world, see the city and perhaps persue a career as a model or singer...though her folks don't think so highly of her. Wanting her to marry some well off farm boy and pop out kinds like a good little wife. That isn't the life for this girl who has fun written all over her, if only she'd grow out of that timid nature of hers.

Dante looked up as the door opened and another girl walked in, followed right by the teacher. He looked at the girl and realized she was coming to sit right by him. He forced himself to look casual as he gave her a once over. Damn he thought, they must put something in the water out here. These girls are gorgeous. He had heard that about the midwest though, the whole corn-fed country goodness thing, but passed it off as a myth, expecting to see nothing but country yokels. He was quickly warming up to this place. He smiled at the girl as she flashed her eyes at him before he turned away to look back at the board.

The teacher started introducing himself. "Hello students I'm..." And he started writing his name on the board "Mr... Gordon. I know most of you already know me, but this is for the benefit of the new kid." He smiled at Dante and Dante sighed. He was hoping to avoid this. "How about you come to the front and introduce yourself?" Dante grumbled under his breathe as he stood and walked to the head of the class.
"Ummm hey, I'm Dante, I just moved here from Brooklyn." He said simply and walked back to his seat.
"Well it's nice to have you in the class Dante, hopefully this won't be too big a change for you." He chuckled slightly. "Alright then, I'm handing around Syllabuses if you would all take one and pass it down....." Dante stopped listening, choosing instead to gaze around the class and examine his new classmates.

Leilana took her syllabus, stiffling a yawn least she offend the teacher with how boring this all was. Looking over the syllabus, she rolled her eyes things she'd all seen and heard before. Setting it aside, she pulled out a note pad and began to write stuff down. At first it would seem she were writing notes as the teacher began the class. But it would later reveal itself that her notes were actually song lyrics...songs she herself had written.

She looked up from her 'notes' to catch eyes with Dante. He was definately handsome, a little rough around the ages but nothing to be scared off. She really wanted to know what the city life was like. Celebrities, fancy cars, rich homes, delicate foods...it all sounded so out of reach. When she caught herself staring she quickly looked back down a flush of color marring her face. "H-how long have you been here...I mean...when did you move in...to our town." she asked finding her voice though it was in a low whisper so as not to alert the teacher.

Name: Larry Theron
Age: 18
Height: 6'3"
Weight: 160 pounds
black hair, green eyes tanned skin
Personality: cold and standoffish usually, but lately has been moody

Larry sat down in his desk, paging through a comic book out of boredom. He wasn't doing much else, and was trying to kill time before class. Not much else to do, and he didn't have any homework that wasn't already done.

Dante felt his eyelids getting heavy. Christ this guy was boring he thought as he went on and on about the great American expedition out west. Dante thought about raising his hand and asking about the eurocentric views this textbook had about western expansion, completely ignoring the plight and experience of colored settlers. He'd always enjoyed making teachers uncomfortable with his "black power" ideas but it was never much more than a joke. He decided against it at this time, didn't want to get dad run out of town or nothing. So instead he beat a soft rythm against his desk with his pencil as he started nodding off..

He opened his eyes and saw the girl next to him looking him over and he shot her a smile. Golden eyes, you don't see those too much he thought. He winked at her and she blushed looking away. He wasn't used to shy girls, he found it refreshing. He barely heard her first question and leaned in closer as she asked how long he'd been here. He lowered his voice to a whisper, not thinking it was necessary, Mr. Gordon was engrossed in his lecture, so much so he didn't notice half the class wasn't paying attention. "My family got into town two nights ago. Spent most of the day unpacking, haven't had a chance to see the sights." He smiled at her. "What's your name?"

"Oh.. uh... Leilana Weston. Nice to meet you." she said, and would have put her hand out for a proper shake but decided it awkward at this time. "There's a carnival in town, uh if you want maybe I could show you around after school today. I mean..if that isn't to forward of me. We don't have much in the country side but its home." she smiled still quite flushed from his winking of her earlier.

"Mr. Gordon means well but he bores us all to sleep." she smiled pointing to a few rows that had nodded off or at least looked close to it. Some students were simply talking to their friends and surprise surprise a few with cellphones were text messaging across the board.

"Well the man's obviously a sadist." He whispered. "Giving a lecture like this on the first day of the semester that's just cruel." He smiled at her. "A carnival eh? I can't remember the last time I've been to a carnival..." Truth was he'd never been, but he didn't want to admit to that. "And I'd love the company. I really feel out of place here, I'm glad to see their are at least some friendly people." He shot her his best smile. "Besides..." He said looking her over again. "I'd say this country side has a lot more than I expected it to."

Characteristics: Black Hair, Brown Eyes (Red Contact Lens), Tanned Skin & somewhat Muscular

Personality: Very Energetic

Joshua was sitting on a desk next to Larry who was flipping through a comic book as Mr. Gordon was lecturing. Joshua didn't want to spend his day listening to a teacher blabber. He basically threw his paper that he got onto the floor. Joshua turned his torso toward Larry.

"Hey Larry!" whispered Joshua leaning closer to Larry so that Mr. Gordon wouldn't hear him. "I need to tell you something."

Larry looked up, raising an eyebrow at the interruption. "What do you want, Joshua. More girl trouble? You really need to stop thinking with your smaller head. It only gets you in deep shit." He knew that would get the guy to laugh, which might be amusing for a few seconds.

Joshua Richens

"Larry you're funny for a guy who keeps silent reading comic books all day," laughed Joshua silently not to alert Mr. Gordon.

"I just want to tell you I'm planning on asking Leilana out after class," smiled Joshua. "I can't stand the pressure. She is so hot!"

Larry chuckled to himself. "You're not her type. Hell, I'm not her type." He turned the page, staring intently at the image on it. He didn't bother to look up.

Joshua Richens

Joshua got irritated. "What do you mean I'm not her type. I could tell your not her type since your just plain boring but me! I know she can be really shy sometimes but who cares. If I can get her to like me, I know she will have feelings for me."

Larry looked up slowly. "Try looking behind you. She's been making googly eyes all class period at the new guy." He looked calmly at Joshua.

Joshua Richens

Joshua took a glance behind his back. He was shocked to see the new guy giving off smiles to Leilana as she giggled timidly. Joshua slowly turned away furiously.

"That new guy doesn't know what he's doing!"

Larry couldn't resist, a grin spread across his face at that. He himself preferred redheads, but Leilana had an exotic look that was attractive. Still, she was way out of his league. He turned another page, then smiled, and pulled out a sketchbook. He started drawing one of the images on a clean page, reproducing it beautifully.

Joshua Richens

"What the hell are you drawing?" Joshua taking a peak, still stressed over Leilana.

Larry raised an eyebrow, then showed Joshua the image of Psylocke he was drawing, with her backside facing them. The thong back of her bodysuit was clearly revealed, as he continued drawing. Her head was facing the viewpoint, with her eyes glowing slightly. "Betsy Braddock."

Joshua Richens

"I guess you play with your dick looking at these drawings, eh Larry?" insulted Joshua. The remark was directly related to Joshua being irritated by the fact that the new guy was trying to flirt with Leilana. He only said that due to his distressed mind.

Larry shrugged, ignoring the innuendo. He knew the poor guy was suffering from blue balls. They all were, he figured, and it was nothing new. He shook his head slowly. "All the skill in the world is nothing if you can't back it up with charm."

"Uh... okay." she blinked a bit taken by his last comment but thought nothing of it. Class slowed to a general crawl with Leilana grumbling to herself though she spoke with Dante for most of the hour until the bell announced their permission to leave. "Finally. Freedom!" Leilana sighed hurriedly she put away her things slipping her bag over her shoulder.

"Uh...well I guess I'll catch you later. Not sure if we have the same class next. But you if ya want maybe I can show you around ..." she shrugged it was highly unusual to take the initiative but Dante seemed nice enough and he was new after all, the least she could do was be friendly.

Joshua Richens

Joshua mind suddenly became at ease. It seemed at first Larry's quote had an effect, however, it had to be something else. Joshua gave out a freakish grin. He had thought of something and by the look on his face it wasn't good. Class was done and he began to pack his things which were just a pencil and a eraser.

Dante noticed one of the kids in front of him turn around and shoot daggers at him with his red eyes. He narrowed his brow confusedly and turned to Leilana still whispering. "Hey who's that guy sitting up there? Next to the guy with the comic book? I swear he just stared venom at me... very weird." He shook his head. "Maybe he just doesn't like us colored folk." He chuckled slightly. They continued talking, Dante finding himself very drawn to the girl. It was nice to meet someone so friendly right off. He had let his own racism convince him that everyone was going to be mean to him, and he was glad to see that was wrong.
He smiled at her. "Let me see your schedule." He looked it over, "Oh sweet we do have the same class next, Mrs. Sanderson's English class. And yeah, I'd be more than happy to have ya show me about."
