...then it would be better to cancel the upcoming meeting.”

Next:

“This morning we have informed the White House that I will not attend the meeting scheduled for next Tuesday with the @POTUS,” Mexican [drug cartel-corrupted] President Peña Nieto replied.

And then:

Value of the Peso Plummets After Mexico’s President Nixes Trump Meeting

The despicably corrupt federal government of Mexico is just beginning to feel the wrath of just American cause and effect.

If the peso's drop causes another financial crisis in Mexico, we will end up with a lot more illegal immigrants in the US, wall or no wall.

Not to mention the increase in crime and drug trafficking.

Thinking Mexico would pay for a wall for American security is ridiculous. Will he try to get Saudi Arabia pay for passenger screening on airlines?

And none of the RWCJ care that Trump basically announced a 20% tax increase on food?

More likely it hasn't occurred to anyone in their haste to find a way to prove Mexico will pay for the wall. Good point, Sean.
An import tax will most certainly be passed on to American consumers, meaning we will be paying for the wall if that is the method, or one of the methods, implemented.
I support building the wall and hiring 5,000 more Border Patrol agents. I support supporting those agents with drones to more effectively stop illegals from crossing the border.
And if it's paid for by taxes on Americans, so be it. A legitimate government function is providing for a secure border, which is a key to national security.

A cheaper peso means cheaper and more goods heading to the USA.

That's a win for American consumers, but not so much for American manufacturers.

It sounds like the wall will now be paid out monies scraped from other parts of the federal budget (funded with American taxpayer money) and than will be repaid for in the future by import tariffs passed on to the consuming American taxpayers.

Quite the plan.

And the cost for the fence ranges upward to about $20B. Keep it up and it will cost more than the 112-mile high-speed rail project through California's central valley.

If it wasn't for the laws of supply and demand you would be correct.
