Fired for Liking Coldplay

“June Tangney, a professor of psychology at George Mason University in Virginia who studies shame and guilt, says we live in a world where we have almost no privacy and people tend to be drawn to "salacious" interpersonal stories, especially when they can feel "morally superior."

On social media, in the absence of face-to-face interactions, these things can quickly spiral as people play off each other. “

1. I think what consenting co workers do outside the office is irrelevant to employment.

2. public shaming over sex is an American thing.
1. Lol- so the company's reputation was obviously not impacted here. 🤣🤣🤣
2. There was no sex involved.

No, fired for hot play with the head of HR.
Obviously neither are very smart or are extremely smart with zero common sense

Weren't they punished enough for having to listen to Coldplay for 2 hours?

Yah, that's a problem when your Chief Finance Officer is getting trim from the Accounts Payable Manager. You're going to see some dicey things showing up as expenses, assuming they show up at all.

“Big Rat is watching you.” Americans love watching and judging and shaming each other. It’s sick behavior.

“To say that the families at the center of this spectacle — and most unfortunately, their children — are likely to be humiliated and traumatized is an understatement.

The damage is done.

I don’t envy their loved ones and what they must be going through as a result of this event, made worse by the morality brigade that sped to find their social media profiles and post messages of sympathy, self-righteousness or spite — all equally unhelpful.

The social media user who posted the original clip has expressed few regrets for upending a series of lives, her Venmo and Cash App handles on full display.”

This guy isn't in any dire straits except with his wife.

I doubt he'll be hired as a CEO anymore, though I'm sure he negotiated a golden parachute to make it through.

Dude who posted the clip is probably making bank..maybe he'll end up as CEO of Astronomy.

He’s still on the Board.

But that’s not the point… the glee Americans get from eating the rich is palpable… like when that insurance ceo was killed in the street.
Yah, poor guy

Good on your standing up for the little guy 👍

You get fixated on the stupidest shit.
👍
