Fire Side Dancer

[Angeltears]

They didn't have long to wait for them to see what Ash ment by wait and see. For the Elder that Tora had whispered to stood up and entered the fire light so that all could see her. Raising her hands every one fell silent, she looked around the people gathered. "I have been told we are all in for a special treat tonight. As the men had there chance to perform before us today, two of our young women wish to do the same." The elder stepped aside returning to her place in the circle and the tingling of bells could be heard. A gap appeared on either side of the fire and every one watched as Tora and Kara emerged from the darkness, the tiny bells that were around there wrists and ankles and woven and sown into there belts of ribbon, tinkling as they moved. They both wore skirts of multicoloured material with shiny beads that caught and reflected the fire light. They wore tops with long sleeves, ribbons and feathers tied into there hair, both were bare foot and smiling.

Once with in the fire light facing each other they stopped. Tora spoke first. "Singer, will you sing for us?" she called over the fire. "I will Dancer, if you dance for us?" Kara called back. "I will," Tora replied and both girls raised there hand and threw a powder into the main fire which instantly made it change colour glowing green for a second. Then Kara started to sing and gently she started to sway as she sang, the bells once again going with her movements. They were then joined by Tora's bells as she started to dance around the fire and Kara, moving this time not to the sound of her brothers instruments but to the sound of Kara's voice. The song Kara sang was one a mother sang to there daughters as they grew up.

Rahn watched as the elder woman walked into the circle and told everyone that two women would be performing for them. Rahn smiled and looked on as Tora and Kara entered the circle from opposite sides. His eyes moved to Tora and stayed fixed on her. She was truly gorgeous in the firelight. They called out to eachother then turned the fire green with a powder. Rahn was surprised by that and watched as Tora started dancing as Kara sang.

Rahn heard Kara's voice, but his focus was solely on Tora. He was unable to remove his eyes from her, and even if he was able, he didn't want to. He gazed at her as she danced around the fire to the song. Seeing her dance made him happy, and the first verse told him that Toa was dancing for him. He also knew that Kara would be singing for Tan. Rahn relaxed and let his eyes follow Tora until the end of the song. His eyes stayed on her, but he started clapping along with everyone else. He smiled at her and waited for his eyes to meet with hers.When they did, he felt very happy, and un undescribable, wonderful feeling overwhelmed him. He knew for sure that he was in love with Tora.

The brothers watched the two girls preform, Sol wrapping his arms around Lia and watching over her shoulder. Ash heard some of his mates behind him make comments on both Kara and Tora, they were all good and none that he felt the need to punch any of them for. Looking side ways at Rahn he saw the way he watched Tora's every move and a smile crept across his face. Then looking to the other side he looked to Tan, and what he saw made his smile bigger. Tan had slet out a sigh of releif when he saw the two girl, and thought that as soon as this was over he was going to have a long talk with his sister about vanishing like she did. But those thoughts stopped and seemed to vanish themselves as he saw Kara in the fire light. There was something different about her, some how she seemed more confidednt as she stood there before every one. Then when she sang it was as if her voice surrounded him, such beautiful music, he thought. It was like he was seeing Kara for the first time.

As Kara sang the last word Tora slowly stopped again on the other side of the fire from Kara. Facing each other over the fire both girls smiled and then cutsied to each other and then turning and repeating it to the crowd. As the crowd clapped Tora looked at her brothers and smiled, her eyes catching Rahn her smile grew softer. As the clapping died down both girls walked around the fire the bells still tinkling and they joined the group. Ash moved back giving the girls room to sit beside him. Tora sat between Ash and Rahn, leaving Kara know choice but to sit next to Tan. Ash wrapped his arms around his sister and pulled her back slightly so she leaned against him. Bring her hand down to the ground she brushed it against Rahn's leg, smiling at him slightly. Her hand resting close to him on the ground. "That was very well done girls," Sol said and Lia agreed. "It's good to see you back Lia," Tora said smiling over at them. "I like the bells the best that way we can hear you coming and it should be easier to find you now. Isn't that right Tan?" Tan made a sound of agreement but he was looking slightly arkward and smiling at Kara. "You sang very well." he told her. "Thank you," she replied her cheeks growing slightly red again.

When the dance was over Rahn watched Tora make her way over toward him and her brothers. He smiled at her as she sat next to him. He felt her hand brush against his leg before it went to the ground. Rahn shifted how he was sitting to block the view of the ground between the two of them. He then put his hand on the ground as well and slowly moved it until it was touching hers. He then noticed Tan and Kara. He smiled and then thought of something. He leaned close to Tora and started to whisper in her ear. "I think we can tell Sol now, but he will probably take it better if he is with Lia at the time. then I can talk to Tan about Kara, and then you can talk to him about me. Now laugh as if I was telling you something funny." He then quickly and softly kissed her ear in a way that did not look like a kiss before sitting normally again.

Both Tora and Ash noticed Rahn move but Ash looked the other way while Tora smiled. She then felt his hand touching hers and she forced herself not to look down, but to simply smile and look into the fire. When he leaned in close to whisper in her ear, she leaned in with out thinking and listened. Nodding slightly when he mentions telling Sol and Lia and then about Tan. Her heart beat raced when she felt his gentle kiss, she almost forgot to laugh. But she remembered just in time and started laughing covering her mouth at the same time. The others looked at her but thenn turnedx back to there own conversations. Tora felt Ash loosen his hold on her and lean back to talk to one of his freinds.

When Ash leaned forward he seemed stiffer all of a sudden. Leaning back Tora looked at him and saw that he was annoyed. "Whats wrong Ash?" she asked looking over his shoulder at the guy he had been talking to. "Nothing I can't handle," he said back tightening his grip on her slightly. "How about you give us another dance, this time to our music?" he smiled at her but Tora still saw something was annoying him. Nodding her head she slipped from his arms and moved her hand away from Rahn's and stood up. "Time to dance," she said smiling at her brothers, who collected there instruments and as Tora got into position started to play.

Rahn smiled at Tora laughed and covered her mouth. Luckily none of her brothers looked suspicious. Then Tan starting talking to one of his friends. When he was done he looked different. Rahn had no idea what might be bothering him. He then asked Tora to do another dance. Tora agreed and Rahn felt a little dissapointed that she would not be sitting next to him any more. He did like watching her dance though, so it would not be too bad. He sat back and relaxed, waiting for the dance to start.

As her brothers started Tora started to dance and as she made one circle around the fire. When she reached the others again she reached out a hand to Kara who hesantly took it and both of them started to dance around the fire. Around they went and then when they made a loop again they reached for Lia, who instantly took there hand and danced around the circle. Slowly one by one they gathered the women from around the circle, all of them danceing. It didn't matter if they couldn't dance well all that it mattered was the movement and having fun.

Rahn sat back and watched Tora start the dance. He was a little surprised when she grabbed the two other girls, but then just looked on as they had a good time dancing. His eyes mostly stayed on Tora, though his mind could not help but worry a little about what was suddenly bothering Tan. He just hoped it had nothing to do with him.

 

[Angeltears]

Ash seemed to be starting to relax as he played the drums in his lap watching as his sister invited the women to dance. He knew this was a way that all the young women would be able to dance before there men or those they fancied. Ash slowly let go of the remark his freind had made about Tora. Every thing was going well, until Tan and Ash both over heard a converstaion behind them.

"Those three make a beautiful group don't you think?"
"Yes, but Lia is out of the question, she is Sol's. As for Kara and Tora, well Kara's to shy she would more likely run away if you made a move. As for Tora, well little chance there."
"I wouldn't say that from what I have seen, it would seem that the brothers three are loosening there hold on pretty Tora's leash, maybe now some of us will have a chance with her. Get to know her better, if you know what I mean."

Both brothers recognised the last ones voice and turned instantly, forgetting about the music. The one that has spoken last had been known to charm some of the young women of this village and others and then grow bored with them when he got what he wanted. "You keep your eyes and your hands, away from my sister," Ash said almost throwing himself at the man. He had been freinds with one of the girls that this guy had grown bored with and he couldn't bear the thought of this guy even going near Tora.

During the dance Rahn was oblivious to anything other than Tora's dancing. That was until he heard Tora's name. He listened to the conversation waiting to hear some nice compliments about her. What he heard made him angry. They were talking as if Tora was an object for them to get their hands on once her brothers were not as protective of her. Tora was not an object. She was a person, a beautiful, lovely person who he cared about very much. Then the music stopped and Rahn noticed two of the prothers turn to face the men behind.

Ash yelled at them and Rahn had a gut feeling that he needed to calm him down. He grabbed Ash's arm gently and spoke softly to him. "Don't do anything you will regret. Your brothers will know of me and Tora soon and then it will become public knowledge. They can say all they want. They won't get close to her though. Remember, Toar cares for me and I care for her. That guy has no chance of doing anything to hurt her. I'll make sure of it. I'll keep her safe. Don't worry and don't do anything crazy. If he does lay a hand on her, he will regret it."

 

[Angeltears]

At the same time as Rahn had grabbed Ash, Sol had rested a hand on Tan's shoulder. Ash listened to Rahn's words but he still didn't look away from the guy. Slowly he started to calm down, what Rahn said was true but still the guy had no right to say the things he said about Tora. His muscles started to relax under Rahn's hand and he pulled back away from the guy. Looking back at Rahn, "Your right." Tan looked over at Ash and then before any one could say anything Tan pulled his fist back and smashed it into the guys face. "You speak of any girl that way, especially my sister or Kara, I will break your nose," Tan growled as Sol pulled him back away from the man that was now laying on his back holding his nose which was pouring blood.

Kara gasped and Tora gripped her hand as they had seen what had happened, as soon as the music had stopped Tora had turned to her brothers to see why. Lia stood beside the two girls watching. Tan shook himself free of Sol and standing up he walked off as the elders gathered to break up the fight. Sol threw Lia a look and then followed after Tan. Ash looked at Rahn, "Come on tonight's fun has been spoiled, lets get the girls away from here." With that Ash headed towards Tora and the other two, not spareing the grounded man a glance.

As Rahn calmed down Ash he suddenly noticed Tan's fist flying toward the man who Ash also seemed to be angriest with. Sol got a hold of Tan hand held him back. Rahn held onto Ash's arm to prevent him from doing anything though he seemed calm now. As Tan walked off Sol followed him. Rahn got up with Ash and walked over to the girls. It was the first time he seemed unable to smile when he was near Tora. "Let's go girls. I think you all want to know what happened, but we shouldn't tell you here." With that he let Ash lead them all off to somewhere quiet where they could let them know what had gone on.

 

[Angeltears]

As soon as Rahn and Ash approached the girls, Tora saw that Rahn wasn't smiling and she didn't like it. When they were close enough she went to ask what had happened, but Rahn beat her to it and she simply nodded and followed after Ash, heading in the direction that Tan had stalked off in. Kara still beside Tora looked over at her family, Tora noticed this and said if she wanted to go to them she could, the brothers and her would understand. Kara shook her head and whispered back that she wanted to know what happened. Tora smiled at her slightly and then looked over at Rahn, mouthing the words 'Thank you.' She had seen Rahn restrain Ash and for that she was grateful, but still the look on Rahn's face concerned her, what had happened?

They all found Tan pacing back and forward muttering under his breath on the edge of the village not that far from there tents. Sol stood to the side watching him go back and forward. When they joined them Lia left the group and automatically went to Sol, slipping her hand into his. Ash stood to the side his own fists clenched he was still annoyed but right now he needed to make sure Tan calmed down. Tora stood there watching Tan. Kara hiding slightly behind her, Kara had never seen him this angry before, Tora had. "What happened?" Tora asked. "The Bastard said something he shouldn't have!" Tan growled not missing a step. "What did he say?" she asked but none of the brothers would answer her. Placing her hands on her hips she looked at them all, "From what I heard of the threats you both were flinging, I know it's about me and Kara. We are not children to be shielded, if some one is going about saying something about us we have a right to know."

Rahn watched Tan pacing angrily. Tora asked what happened, but Tan did not really explain. When she asked again none of her brothers would tell her. Rahn took a deep breath and released it before starting to explain. "At first they commented on how good the three of you looked. Then they said something about Lia being out of the question because of Sol. They said that Kara was too shy to try anything. She would probably run away. Then one of them started to talk about you, tora. He said that your brothers seemed to be loosening their grip on your leash. They.....they said that.....that maybe they would have a chance to 'get to know you better' but.....but they did not mean it....... in a friendly way." Rahn had a hard time getting the words to explain out, and as he talked he grew angry again. He watched Tora to see what her reaction would be to the men talking about her in that way.

 

[Angeltears]

Tora turned when he heard Rahn take a deep breath, she listened as he explained what had been said. She saw how hard it was for him to tell her and she wanted to go to him and comfort him. But she didn't, she nodded her head to at him and turned to look at her three brothers. Tan had stopped pacing and was looking at Rahn but as soon as Tora turned around back to him he focused on her. He saw she was angry, so he didn't say anything. Tora was pissed off that this is what the guys of the village thought of her, that if it wasn't for her brothers she would have let them get near her in any other way than friends. "First you shouldn't have hit him, Tan. Second you should have told me right there and then so I could have broken his nose," she said her voice low. "Third the two of you," she looked directly as Tan and Ash, "know I wouldn't even think about letting him near me. I am not that stupid." Her fists were clenched at her side and she took a deep breath and then let it out.

Rahn noticed that Tora seemed to be angry about what he told her. He listened to what she said and was a little surprised that she would have hit the guy as well. Then she told her brothers that they knew she would not let those guys near her. He smiled at her happily. He also knew of one other reason why the men would not get near her. He also felt that it might be time to tell her other two brothers. He waited until he caught her eye again and gave her a look that he intended to tell her that he felt they should tell the others about them. He wondered if she would agree and waited to see if she did, who she felt should tell them.

 

[Angeltears]

"We know your not stupid," Tan said raising his hands towards her. "It was just a reaction to hit him. He shouldn't have said those thing about you or any girl." His eyes moved to Kara who still stood behind Tora and suddenly all his angry fled, she looked scared and he realised it was of his anger. Looking down at his hands he sighed and saw his fist with which he had hit the guy with, it stung and he shook it wincing slightly. Suddenly Kara was there taking his hand to look to see if it was okay.

Tora turned to Rahn after seeing that Ash was now sitting on the ground having seemed to have calmed down now. She caught his look and without careing what the others thought she went to him. She needed to calm down herself and she knew that having him close would help her. Standing before him she looked up at him and tried to smile.

Rahn smiled a little as Tora neared him. He took her hand and held it between both of his. He then spoke softly to her so that the others could not hear. "I think it is time for us to tell them. Who knows, maybe those guys will make the news even easier for them to handle it. I'm just not sure which of us should tell them, though I think they might rather hear it from you first. I can then promise to them that I will take care of you and do whatever it takes to prove that I love you. Which I do." His last words made him smile even more since he had not said that to her before and it felt nice to say it.

 

[Angeltears]

Tora smile became real as he took her hand between his. She listened as he spoke and nodded in agreement. He was right now might be the right time. What was the worst that could happen, they would get angry well she would be ready for Tan's anger if that was what happened. His last couple of words stunned her, she had not expected him to say he loved her. She knew she loved him but had not known that the full extent of her feelings were returned. She smiled up at him and whispered "I love you too." Then quickly she kissed his holding hands and turned to face her brothers. Ash was looking at them both and the look on his face told Tora that he had a feeling about what she was about to do. He got to his feet quickly and this seemed to get the other two brothers attention. They looked to him then to Tora. "There is something I need to tell you. There is another reason you shouldn't have gotten so anger and shouldn't worry about those guys is because I have met someone that I care greatly for and I love him." She took a breath and looked back at Rahn. Stepping in closer to him she leaned against him, hugging him.

Tan and Sol looked between Tora and Rahn. Sol's amazment turned into a smile of happness. But Tan was a different story, he looked confused and puzzled. "What? When did you decide this? How?" he took a step forward. Kara stepped to the side worried. Ash also stepped forward incase this got out of hand.

Rahn smiled as Tora said that she loved him. She then kissed his hands and turned toward her brothers. Ash made sure the other two were paying attention before Tora started to talk. As she told her brothers about them he smiled brightly. Then she looked back at him and leaned in to hug him. Rahn wrapped his arms around her and looked at her brothers to see how they would react. Sol seemed to take it very well which made Rahn happy, but Tan was different. He questioned them about it and Rahn started to explain calmly.

"Yesterday when Tora went for a walk, she went with me. I asked her to walk with me to explore a little. During that walk something happened and a great feeling started to grow inside me. Tora and I ended up kissing in the woods. That is all that happened there, I promise. Then, up until now my feelings for her have grown even more. I love your sister with all my heart. I mean her no harm at all. I want to care for her and have her by my side. I am not trying to steal her from you and I have only good intentions with her. I promie that to you." He then smiled and gave Tora a soft kiss on the cheek. His eyes stayed on Tan the entire time he spoke, hoping that Tan would see he was telling the truth.

 

[Angeltears]

Looking at her brothers from the safety of Rahn's arm. Though she felt no fear for her brothers but his felt exactly like that a safe place. Sol's reaction made Tora smile but Tan's she stood still as he stepped towards them. Then she listened and watched Tan's reactions to Rahn's explaination.

Tan listened and didn't move any closer much to Ash's releif. This was a lot for him to take in at the moment. He looked to Sol who seemed happy with this new revalation and then to Ash who seemed not the slightest bit concerned about it as if he had already come to grips with this. "You knew?" he asked Ash. Ash nodded his head and Tan growled, "And you didn't tell us about it!" Ash stared at his brother as if he hadn't just been growled at, "I only knew this afternoon and they promised they were going to tell you so I left it up to them. If you want my opinion I think this is a good thing, we have all spent the day with Rahn and he seems like an alright guy. Don't you think so Sol?" Ash looked to his brother for help. Sol nodded, "Tan, he has a point. From what I have seen I think Tora couldn't be in better hands." Tan looked at both brothers and then back to Tora and Rahn. "If you hurt her in any way I swear, I will kill you," with that said Tan shook his head and sighed.

Rahn watched Tan carefully. He looked at each of his brothers and questioned Ash. A little while later Rahn was relieved when Tan seemed to accept it, at least a little. The threat was something he had expected to hear. Rahn smiled and kissed Tora's cheek. He then looked at Tan again. "Tan, I swear to you that I will not harm Tora in any way at all. I truly love her and would never harm her." He then smiled at Tora happily.

 

[Angeltears]

Tora smiled and closed her eyes when Rahn kissed her, happy that Tan wasn't going to put up a fight. Tan looked at Tora smiling in Rahn's arms and sighed, "You better make sure you don't." Tan felt some thing touching his hand and looked down. He saw two hands wrapping cloth around his hand. He turned and saw Kara focusing as she wrapped his hand in a make shift banage. She smiled up at him once he was done, and he couldn't help but smile back at her.

Tora looked up at Rahn and leaning up she whispered in his ear. "I guess we won't need to work on the two of them, things seem to be working out on there own." She smiled at him.

Rahn looked over as Kara grabbed Tan hands. He smiled and turned back to Tora. He smiled happily at her. "Yes, that is very good. It means we can focus more on eachother." He then lifted her up and spun her around. After a few spins he pulled her against his chest and kissed her lips happily. He felt relieved that he didn't have to worry about her brothers anymore. Now they would be able to be seen together openly in the village. He looked forward to spending more time with her.

 

[Angeltears]

Tora laughed as he spun her around holding tight onto him, even though she knew he wouldn't let her go. She returned his kiss, still smiling. Ash coughed, "Well now that the two of you don't have to hide behind tents it dosn't mean you have to make us all sick by being all lovey!" Ashe laughed as he said this. Sol then laughed, "Now we just have to get you matched up and then we won't worry." Tan looked at Sol puzzled and then blushed slightly as he met Kara's gaze. Tora laughed, they were one big happy family.
