Fire Side Dancer

Tora smiled at him as he smiled back at her, her hand pausing on her neck. Only when he leaned in she moved her hand away from her neck. As he kissed her neck she closed her eyes and tilted her head to the side. Soon the need to rub at her neck was gone and she was focusing on the feel of Rahn's lips on her neck. "That feels nice," she said softly.

Rahn felt Tora relax after a little while. He heard her tell him it felt nice and he continued doing it for a while. He eventually lifted his head and smiled at her. He kissed her lips softly and pulled her in for a hug at the same time. He then held one arm around her and turned toward the center of the village. "Let's go eat breakfast. I'm sure your brothers are wondering what is taking us so long."

Tora could have stayed like that forever, but she that soon it would end. When he pulled back she sighed and smiled at him and then kissed him as he kissed her. Then she felt his arms around her and she relaxed even more against him. "I hope were not to late for breakfast and if we are I hope my brothers grabbed us some," she said with a laugh, she was quite hungry and if they missed out she would be cranky.

Rahn smiled at her and hoped they were not late as well. When they arrived there was still some food left and Rahn smiled at Tora and kissed her softly. They walked over to the food and got plates each. Rahn looked for Tora's brothers and spotted them waving to get their attention. He smiled at Tora once more and kissed her again before they got distracted by her brothers' questions.

Tora was releived to see there was still food, bacause she really didn't expect her brothers to have got them any. Once they had there food Tora smiled when she saw her brothers waving to get there attention. Tora smiled at Rahn after he kissed her and she took his free hand. Walking to wards the group a movement caught her eye and she saw another group sitting on the other side of the remains of the fire. As she looked over there she saw Kelt and the one that Tan had puched looking over at her and smiling then they whispered to each other and laughed. Tora's grip tightened on Rahn's hand and she looked away quickly from them focusing on her brothers.

Rahn did not see the other men, but felt Tora's grip tighten. He simply assumed she must have seen the man from last night. He leaned in to kiss her cheek softly as they arrived at where her brothers were. He sat next to Tora and held an arm around her and started eating with his other hand. He waited for the expected string of questions about how it had gone and why it took them so long.

Tora looked up at Rahn as he kissed her on the cheek and gave him a small smile. Sitting down Tora focused on her food and Rahn’s arm around her. Ash was fidgeting where he sat, Sol gave him a pointed look and Tan sat there looking at Tora. Sol had suggested that they give them time to eat when they joined them. Finally it was too much for Ash and he blurted out, “What did the elder say?”

Rahn was a little surprised when the brothers did not imediately start asking about it. Yet, it was inveitable. Ash finally broke down and asked them. Rahn laughed and smiled at him. "The man from last night is going to be punished. The elders will deal with him. He did not tell us how, but assured us that something will be done. So no need to worry about it." He then started eating again and gave Tora a little squeeze and a small kiss on the cheek.

Tora smiled at her food when no body said anything straight away she knew that Sol had more likely told them to hold off and laughed when Ash finally asked. She knew he didn’t have much patients for silence, what worried her was Tan’s look. Ash and Sol nodded at Rahn’s response, they seemed happy that the elders would deal with it. Tan continued to look at Tora, “Tora are you sure your okay?” he finally asked, he was annoyed with himself that this had happened to her. He was the one that was supposed to look after the family and this ends up happening to her. “Yes Tan, I am okay,” she said smiling at him.

Rahn noticed the look on Tan's face and understood how he felt. He also wished there was a way he could have prevented that guy from jumping Tora. He would do everything possible to stop it from happening again. He stopped eating for a little while to kiss Tora's cheek and then kiss her neck a little more. He gave her a soft kiss on her lips before returning to eating his breakfast.

Tora continued to eat until she felt Rahn’s on her cheek and then on her neck. “Mmmmm,” she sighed as he kissed her lips and she smiled at him. “Thank you,” she whispered to him and started eating again. She understood what he was doing now, trying to make her forgot the other kiss and just focus on his kiss and it was working. Ash watched this and for once was quiet about their signs of public affection because he figured right now Tora needed Rahn more than she needed an annoying brother. Later he would have his fun.

Rahn smiled at Tora happily as she seemed to relax. He went back to eating and was surprised Ash didn't say anything at all about them. He didn't mind. He could get used to it. He finished eating and then looked up at the others. "So, what is on the scheduel today? More work? Or is there some other kind of event going on?"

“No event today, we have work this morning and then free this afternoon. We have gathered enough water to last the village a few days, thanks to you. So we will work in the fields planting, unless you plan on working on your new platforms. In which case the three of us can help,” Tan said. Tora continued to eat quietly and soon she finished her breakfast. “That’s only for the morning for the afternoon the time is yours,” Sol added.

Rahn smiled and nodded. It sounded good. Free time in the afternoon meant being able to go somewhere quiet with Tora. That was something he definitely wanted to do. He looked at the three of them and thought for a while. The elders wanted him to make more platforms, but he needed to improve them. The one he had so far was good and would work for a while, but with improvements they would last much loner. He smiled when he made up his mind. He turned to Troa and kissed her cheek. "What do you have to do today?"

“First I am on breakfast tidy up duty and then I made plans with Lia and Kara yesterday we were going to help Kara’s mother with some of her weavings, for the market trip coming up.” Tora said. Tora took Rahn’s plate and then stood up. “Back in a second” she said and quickly headed over to where the plates need to be put. Once she dropped of the plates she turned to head back to the group she noticed that Kelt and his group weren’t there and Tora felt at ease. ‘He wouldn’t be stupid enough to do any thing during the daytime any way,” she thought to herself.

While Tora was gone Tan turned to Rahn, “How is she really going do you think?”

Rahn was a bit dissapointed that Tora had things to do. she knew how to build the platforms and could supervise her brothers building them while Rahn tried ways of improving them. Yet she had things to do. She got up and took his plates away.

He turned to her brothers as Tan asked how she was doing. His smile faded and he shook his head. "I'm not really sure how she is doing, but not as well as she tries to convince us or herself. When we went to wash up this morning she rubbed at her neck a lot. I'm trying to take her mind off that part. Yet she seems on edge. Also, I don't want her without one of us near her at all times, day or night. I think it might be best for her not to stay in her own tent, or for one of us to guard her tent at night. I fear that even after punishment, the man from last night or someone else might try something again. So, we will build platforms, but we will do it in the same place she does her weaving. I think someone might try something even with Lia or Kara with her. They might even get pulled into it. Which means that you have even more to worry about. I really love Tora more than anything or anyone I've ever known, or will know. If something happened to her, I don't know what I'd do."

Tan had feared that Rahn would say something like this. One of the things about his sister he knew for sure, when it came to those she cared for tried to act brave and as if everything was all right. It had been the same when their parents had died; she had tried to be strong for them. Tan nodded agreeing with Rahn, “I think that might be for the best. Who ever he is wouldn’t be stupid enough to do something while one of us is watching.” Sol and Ash nodded, “If I ever find out who this guy is and he gets any where near her again, I swear elders or not I will beat him black and blue,” Ash growled.

Tora was half way back to the others when one of the elders the one she had spoken to the night of the dance called her over. Heading over to her she smiled and the elder smiled back and spoke, “Dear you have breakfast duty don’t you today.” Tora nodded her head. “Well I have had one of the other girls who is supposed to be doing it tomorrow ask to be swapped with someone today. Is that okay if you swap with her?” Tora thought on it and nodded, “Okay I can do that.” “Thank you dear,” the elder smiled at her and Tora headed towards her brothers and Rahn.

Rahn shook his head at Ash. "You should not do anything. Even if you find otu who it is. Unless you are defending her at the time of anything that happens, let me deal with it. There is one elder who I can talk to about anything. I'm sure that even if I went to fight anyone who harmed Tora, I can probably get off fairly easily withoout much of a punishment. you will probably not be so lucky. I think tehy are going a little easy on me right now because I'm fairly new." He then turned and saw Tora getting close to them. He smiled at her and blew her a kiss. "No breakfast duty today?"

Ash looked up as saw Tora coming too but before she got close enough to hear him he said quietly to Rahn, “She is our sister and we will not stand aside while she is in trouble, damn the consequences.” Then he smiled up at Tora.

Tora smiled at Rahn as he blew her a kiss and as soon as she was beside him she leaned over and gave him a kiss on the forehead. “Yep, one of the elders asked if I will swap so I did, I will be doing it tomorrow morning instead.” Looking around at her brothers and Rahn she smiled at them, “I guess then I had better go to Kara’s tents.” Tora glanced around quickly a worried look coming over her face and then quickly vanishing as she looked back at the group. “So if you are working on more of the platforms were will you be making them?” she asked sounding as if she was just simply curious.

Rahn smiled at the kiss on the forehead. Then he smiled more when she said she didn't have breakfast duty. He noticed her look around and knew it was because she was nervous. She asked where they would work on the platforms. He looked at her seriously. "We will work on them wherever you are doing your weaving. Whether you like it or not, one of us will be with you at all times for the next while. Even at night you will sleep in one of our tents or have one of us sleeping at the door of your tent. So, I will send two of these guys to gather the stuff we need and the other one and I will join you in finding Kara's tents."

Tora looked at her brothers as they agreed with Rahn. Tora was relieved by this but she wasn’t about to let them know how relieved. “Well we had better get moving then, we don’t want to keep Lia and Kara waiting,” Tan said as he got to his feet. “Ash and I will go get the stuff we need and meet you at Kara’s family tents,” Sol said getting to his feet pulling Ash to his feet they headed off to gather every thing. “Come on you two,” Tan said looking at Rahn and Tora and then turning and heading in the direction of Kara’s tents.

Rahn smiled when Tora did not argue about it at all. He got up and wrapped an arm around her. He called out a list of things to the two brothers walking off to make sure they got everything. He then started walking with Tora, following Tan on the way to Kara's family tents. As they walked he kissed Tora a few times and smiled at her. He then spoke softly in her ear. "As long as I am near you have nothing to worry about. I will take care of you as best I can. Your brothers will as well."

Sol waved back at the others before they vanished from sight, letting them know they had heard what was needed. Tora smiled as he kissed her, listening as he whispered in her ear. “I know you will all protect me, but you all shouldn’t have to. I don’t like being a burden on any one,” she said.

Rahn laughed a little and kissed her again. He squeezed her a little and leaned his head against hers as they walked. "You are no burden at all of me. I love being near you. I never want to leave your side. now being close to you just serves another purpose. It even gives me a reason to be near you more often. I'm sure once we tell the village about us, then the other men will stop bothering you. With this trouble it will also serve as a way for me to prove to your brothers that I can take care of you the way they think only they can. If I can prove myself, they will evenutally be fine with us being united and then we can be together without secrect and hiding from others. Our love can be open for the world to see."

Tora looked at him surprised when he laughed at her. But she listened as he explained. “So you have other motives behind your reasons for protecting me. My you are a crafty man,” she giggled. “I don’t want you to leave my side any way, and you don’t need to protect me to get my brothers approval for our union. They already like you; I think we will just need to wait for a little while. I guess I can go along with your protection, if it means that we can be together.”
