Yeah -- it really is for research. Trust me.

So ... you're playing with ice & melted wax. Where do you want the ice? Where do you want the dripping candle wax? Nipples or clit? Both? Ice follows fire? Vice versa? Or ice in one spot and heat in the other?

Now ... you're READING about the above. Do your answers differ?

I want hot wax in the candlestick and away from my sensitive spots :)

As far as heat and cold, I think cold should go first. It tends to numb you, which isn't exactly condusive to the climactic scenses in loveplay :)

I'm exactly the opposite.

But ... that's why I'm conducting a poll (of sorts).

Ice afterwards, would be my choice, but I'd put both in so you don't upset the opposing faction :cathappy:

Make sure you write the wax layers as being thin, for the cognoscenti
If it pours on thick, it stays hot even longer, PLUS it insulates against the ice, in my experience, so you don't always get the cold afterwards.

Definitely precision dripping, not pouring. :)

Lets just say with the right lover, I'd even give the wax a try :)

It's a hot (pardon the pun) idea, but not one I have any experience with, so take my words with a whole truckload of salt.

:catroar:

Then think of water. How much hotter can you take that shower massage when it's directed at your clit as opposed to other body parts?

I damned near have the cold water OFF.

You had to mention the shower massage, hehe - I'm still honeymooning with my awesome new showerhead...

Since I don't have a clit, the answer is simple.

I don't want wax or ice on my clit.
A really nice sensation is to have someone that's sucked on ice then put their tongue on your pussy but direct ice on the clit or inner lips is a turn off for me. As for the wax and ice in the same session, I'd have them contrast in the same general vicinity rather than be used on both the same spots. I like the idea of dribbling wax around the outer curves of the breast and then having ice drug around the nipple. Wax is a fun thing and really heavy on the mental side of things as well as the physical but I don't care for it right on the most sensitive parts because it's good enough at radiating the sensation peripherally. Thus, the wax around the most sensitive places brings everything to life and the ice serves as an extreme contrast to it, creating a bit of roller coaster of sensations.

I'm not writing yet -- just thinking about it -- and it's not for Lit.

Okay, but it wouldn't have been a problem if you were. My immediate reaction was "Oh shit," but it's fine.

I think that randomly alternating the wax & ice would be the best... that way noth sensations keep the reciever on their guard...

Just My two bits.

I had an experience with hot and cold years ago, that I enjoyed quite a lot.

Virginia summers are insanely hot and muggy, especially around August. Add in the heat from Northern VA and DC, and you get a truly sweltering situation. I decided to have some fun with my s/o at the time, and play with the heat.

That morning, I went to the store and picked up an empty spray bottle. I filled it with water, and put it in the fridge for the day, and then in the freezer for about 45 minutes. I wanted it cold, but not frozen.

I changed the sheets with a fresh crisp set of white sheets (white just always seems cooler to me, for some reason). I took the bottle and spritzed the sheets all over. Not enough to get them wet, but just enough that there was a sort of dew across them. Wide spray works better than stream. :D

When she came over to my place, I began pleasuring her, but wouldn't let her lay down on the bed, until just before she came to climax. The combination of the sweltering heat, the body heat and the raw passion, played amazingly well on the ice coldness of the sheets. The best I can explain it was a tingle as the two extremes vied for attention. The orgasms were explosive.

I think the key is finding a way to play the heat and cold off of one another. With wax and ice, I would recommend the wax first. You don't want to numb the skin with the ice first, becaue you don't want your partner to miss any of the feelings. Also, if left too long, you could burn the skin.

Keep in mind that the amounts need to be small. If you go with too much wax at first, the ice will cool the wax quickly, but the cold won't be felt as keenly through the layer of wax.

Just my $0.02
