Long nails can be a very sensual thing. They can be used to lightly run over a persons body sending shivers to their core...then dig in and scratch giving the same reaction...or to pinch in just the right spot at just the right time. They can be used to make a point or gain someones attention. A long red fingernail curling around a nipple clamp and tugging. LOL i can think of a million perfect reasons to have them. I dont see them as a handicap in any way, just an enhancment of pleasure.

I suppose I view fingernails as deeply personal to her. Tiny but powerful instruments that are uniquely hers. A direct connection without the interference of leather or rope or wood or rubber. A tool her body has naturually developed and she has willing encouraged.

A simple thing, fingernails, but oh the complexities of sensation and feeling than can induce.

They are long enough to cause physical sensation and when I want more, I have other things I can use.

I tend to go with lighter, frosty colors and it is up to him to keep them well maintained.

Mine are the same Miss -- Master prefers them kept short, but with a little color -- and toes he likes painted as well. I can't really handle long nails anyway because I am typing on the computer all day -- I am always in awe of those that can -- they have such neat designs nowadays. I say, keep them if you can function with them -- or get another slave to do things for you that you don't wish to do, pure service

Yes Ma'am, I would describe them as long enough to be sexy and short enough to be practical, never a jagged edge and always painted in dark neutral colors.

G won me over when he was the first person to take my hand and tell me it was lovely, not that it would be lovely if I didn't chew.

I have hands that look sort of child like and nails that look nice long or short so i keep them so that they just pass the tip of my finger. And I have pale pale skin so too much color is a shock that I find aesthetically unpleasant. So I wear glittery, shimmery pale pinks and sheers.

When I think of long nails I think of this friend I had in high school - she was incredibly beautiful, in a vampy sort of way. Tall - 6'0", slender, skinny with small perky breasts, and legs up to her chin. And she'd always wear short skirts that showed off a lot and hid nothing. And she had this long beautiful mane of burnette hair that fell around her like a curtain. But she had this fingernails that if she kept them short, would have looked too long anyhow and the way she kept them - almost double their natural length - they just didn't look good. Because of the way they held their shape that long. But she always hinted how much her boyfriend loved them. She always kept them either nautral or dark red.

But personally, I have no fetish for nails... nor am I big on using mine except to massage and scratch scalps. And sometimes gently scratch the back in a massagy sort of way which often illicits moans of pleasure and relaxation. I'm more into using my teeth. I have an oral fixation though.. I love to nibble.

I just thought of something to add... because I thought of NZ's comment about being a painter... at work, I always smudge up my fingers with the edge of markers and highlighters. My roommate laughs at my pink, yellow and blue fingers but I think they're delightfully sexy and remind me of my oil paint smudgy days of high school.

I love the look of my nails when they are long ... if I have taken the time to shape them, as they tend to grow rather square, which isn't very pretty on my hands. And I know that the boy likes me to run my nails over his skin, as does Holly (at times) but neither enjoys me digging in very much when they are long. I also tend to have rather frail nails, and they bend backwards easily, causing pain for me ... and (this is really stupid, but *shrug* might as well admit it all) I can't put my contacts in when my nails are too long, cuz I poke myself in the eye.

For us, too many negatives to deal with for long nails to be worth it ... but I still love the look.

Awwww a subject I adore. I was just discussing this very thing just the other day....I love long nails....not dragon lady long...naturally long. I love to paint mine red...especially blood red (yes I have a bottle called just that). I love to use my nails in play I have to say I do love my toys but touching with my own hands bringing the flesh to goosepimples or to long red scratches down a back or thigh just does it for me. I realish the power my own hands create. I love the feel of a body under me begging for my touch. A touch only I can give with my own hands. Seeing my marks on flesh is a truly amazing thing to me. No matter where you are you can always give a little pinch or a soft stroke to let them know what is on your mind....Oh I better stop now I'm getting myself all excited....sorry for my ramble

Nails

I've considered acrylics, especially considering my line of work, but I can't fathom losing that much dexterity over it.

I wear mine long and they are acrylic coated. The key is not to go full hog for length all at once. Get them tipped shortly longer than your normal length and let them lengthen a bit at a time. Get used to them as they grow out. I can do everything now that I could when they were short. The plus is the polish lasts forever and they rarely break.

I play guitar (badly) as a hobby
So I have short nails on my left hand (except the thumbnail) and longer than normal (for a guy), extremely tough, cut-to-a-point nails on my right hand
(for anyone wondering, yes, I do all the fisting with the left hand & I use cotton balls in the glove to cushion the thumbnail)
The nails are wonderful for dragging lightly down the skin, raking it hard, teasing flogged flesh...all sorts of things
There're pics up in one of the threads of my last sub where I use my nails to ethc the words "James' Slut" in to the skin of her back
So I find nails useful in all sorts of ways

I keep my fingernails very short, and filed perfectly smooth. I do paint them, usually a MAC red of some variety, but lately I've been loving a color called "Blood" by the now-discontinued Revlon Streetwear line. It's an almost black burgundy, with the tiniest scintillating specks of the same color in it. It's not glittery, or frosty; it just has depth.

I keep my nails short for practicality's sake, in work, and for sex. Because I'm rough on my hands, it's good preventive medicine to keep them short-- less chance to tear or snag. I've been doing a lot of restorative painting prep lately (scraping, sanding and priming) so they're au naturel at the moment. Actually, they're covered in little dots and smears of primer, and there's dust around my cuticles. Horrors!

As sex goes, I think the ability to fuck without risking trauma (to myself or others) is the main reason I like them short. As sensation devices, they aren't as dramatic as a bit of fingernail might be, but I compensate by having deft fingertips and using other devices if I want to approximate the feel of nails.
