Rinia stood in the water, making sure she only went out enough that the water came up to her knees. She had learned a while back that it wasn't safe to go to much deeper. The water was pretty unpredictable and liked to pull her out. She always managed to swim back to land, but she didn't enjoy having to fight the strong, high waves. Her eyes scanned the water, looking left and right, her hands at the ready before. Her hands shot down, diving into the water for a second before pulling them back up, a large fish now in them. It was about five maybe six pounds. Enough for breakfast and lunch!
As she pulled it to her bare chest, she looked out at the water again, seeing a small object a ways back. She had seen them before, but was never able to figure out what they were. They never went to her island. She didn't mind of course. Besides, what if it was something bad? Even though... Her head tilted slightly, noticing this object seemed to be closure then any of the others. After a moment, she decided to just ignore it and head back.
Pulling the fish close, she turned and ran out of the water, running across the sand covered land to the protection of her jungle, her dark brown hair flowing behind her. It was a beautiful place, colors everywhere! Large, green trees, bright, vibrant plants. All having colored in with amazing colors. A number of different creatures ran around. From the smallest insect, to the largest feline. Her being the largest.
This island used to be filled, almost over run by her kind. She didn't know why it happened, but when she wasn't about two, they started to die. One by one, they started to become ill and die off. It was horrible. The last one to die was her mother. Rinia was six when it happened. Nothing is worse then seeing your loved one, the last person to actually talk to just.. die.
But she didn't think about it! Nope! She kept herself busy most of the time. Hunting, playing, exploring. She made sure to always find something to do.
She got to the middle of the jungle and slowed down, into a walking pace. In front of her was a medium sized pond and a hut that was left over from her people. Animal were wondering around, most of them were sunbathing, using the branches as their as if they were beds. With a smile, she walked to the ponds edge and sat down, moving the fish to her mouth. Slowly, she began to nibble at it, savoring the fresh taste. Her black, fluffy tail swayed behind her.
