I have a friend I haven't seen in 6 years that I desperately want to reconnect with. Google hasn't turned up anything definitive. Does anyone have any suggestions for finding a lost friend?

The Federal government keeps track of everyone via the Post Office, Social Security, licenses, loans, utility payments, etc. There are some on-line firms that will locate your friend, using the Fed database, for a fee. Try AUTO-TRAK.

I checked into that and they run at least $40. I was hoping for a free tool.

I dont think you'll get it for free. I pay up to $100 an hour to locate records.

Yikes. His dad went and moved on me. I really have to find him so I may cough up the money....

High school? You can always try Classmates.com. You can register for free and see if he's listed there. They have a trial membership that lets you post messages, too. It might be worth a try.

I don't have the link handy at the moment, but there are free tools out there. They charge for more in depth profiles, but will tell you who is how old, and where the person lives for free. I'll have to track down the site that I used once to find my ex girlfriend (there are actually two people with her name born five and a half years apart, very interesting).

I doubt he's registered but I'll give it a look.

And Facebook and Myspace...
I've found old friends on there...
I don't know how to find people on MySpace. Is there a search other than just by names?

Quick look right now, the search function on my other forum is down right now (figures, doesn't it?). I'll have another try when I get home.

I found a relative of mine easy peasy
I found him on there, but did you get to access the address without paying? Maybe I missed something.

Yep, it's pretty efficient. There are a ton of sites like that, just google "people search" or something. They even have them for different countries.

Once you find a name and a city/state, you can do a phone number or address search. Voila!

Google me and nothing comes up.

McKenna's easy.

To find, that is.

I successfully (and actively) kept myself off of Google for quite a while. It wasn't until I started playing poker that things went belly up.

Ye auld codger! You swore you wouldn't tell!

Oh... "to find"... Ooops, my bad.

;)

If you're in the USA (sorry, don't know) ReferenceUSA is a database that most public libraries purchase which you can use at your local library for free. I've used it to find many people and businesses around the U.S.. Being an expensive resource, it is much more comprehensive than the free ones. :rose:
