Not a question of a sexual nature, but I figure I'll ask here anyway

In a nutshell, I'm trying to reconnect with an old flame of mine...she called me, out of nowhere, like 2 years ago...and I was dumb enough to lose the number she gave me. Well, I've been thinking about her alot lately, and I really want to talk to her again, if only one more time...

Is there anything / anyway out there that can let me try and find her? Something FREE is what I need, because I don't have the money to pay someone to do it...if I had the money I'd do it, in a heartbeat, but I really don't, with college coming up...

Thanks to any help in advance

Well, you might want to try classmates.com if you know the school she went to...Try her hometown...phone listings...start calling everyone with the same last name..Good luck!!!

Already tried the classmates route...

Doesn't help me, because I'd have to had either gone to school with her, or know what school she went to. She moved to VA Beach, and I don't know if she still lives there, or hell, even in the state. I don't know what became of her. I've looked in the phone books, but there is no one listed by her name, nor her parent's names, anymore, so I'm at a loss.

And hence, I posted this thread

have you done an internet search on her name?
or tried to find any mutual friends?
good luck

write down everything you know about her, and start looking that way.

parents are usually easier to find as they move less.

do you know where she went to college, if she did?

what town she grew up in?

google?

Have you tried doing a Google search on her name?

I put my name in once and found nothing. But I did find my husband's traffic ticket from three years ago. He was pulled over by a state trooper, so it's part of his state record. The state does put those things on the 'net.

I found a site...

mywebdetective.com

For 30 bucks USD, you can use their services as many times as you want, for your lifetime, to find people...

Anyone ever heard of it and can vouch for it? They've got testimonials I know, and even have a money-back guarantee...

They've been around since 1995, so I guess they must be doing something right...

I think after I get a job and/or credit card, I will look into this, unless someone can give me a reason not to

What was her last job? Call her former employer and say you are needing a forwarding address.

What field did she go into after college? Would she have stayed near home? Did her company, whatever it was, have branches? Call them. Ask for her by name. You just might get a "Just a moment, I'll put you through" from the secretary. (This actually happened to me when I found an old college friend who now works for Ashland Oil. It was EASY. :D )

Did she drive something distinctive? Do you remember her license plate number? You can do a search on those.

What were her hobbies? If she was into, say...racquetball, for example. Where is a racquetball club near where you think she lives? Call and ask if they have heard of her.

Best friends...old flames...high school reunion committee, boy, they can find ANYBODY. Trust me. They track me down every five fucking years. *grumble*

Hope this helps...good luck!

She called me two years ago, back in November of 02. I was a Sophomore in high school...she said she had moved to Va. Beach, she used to live w/ Me (not WITH me though) in Norfolk

She didn't tell me what school she went to. I don't know where she's going to school, I don't know if she's getting into college yet, where she works, if she even has a car

I know nothing, basically :(

Okay. Then look at her parents. What did they do for a living? Maybe you can find one of them at work. Why did they move? What did THEY drive? Were there any other kids, were they older, could they still be working in the same field?

Look at every aspect of their lives, every angle. What do you see that you can run with?

I have no idea what her parents did. I only know her father's name, and past searches on him did not come up with anything

She only has a younger brother, I don't even remember his name

Did you try calling everyone with that last name in the phone book from that town she moved to? Did she have relatives in your town? Maybe try calling those last names...hell, maybe even call her old school and ask if they have a forwarding address on file? They might cite privacy law, but you might get lucky...50/50 shot. ;)

Have you tried... Classmates.com?

It's either that or the detective but you do have a third option...

Miss Cleo she will tell you ya future!

I'm with the Googling her name - I did that to a few friends of mine and got email addresses. And, of course, there is always the reliable phone book. Hopefully she doesn't have a really common name. If you know the last school she was at, you can search the school's site for her name, it usually turns up at least an email address. Good luck! :rose:

Already tried Google, and all the hits take me to deaths and such...like...apparantly, her name is really common, or at least, used to be..

*Sigh*

What about ol' Yahoo? They have a people search on their site too.

Admittedly I looked up an old flame on there and found out she lives a mile from me now! EEK!

TO be honest buds, I think you have lost her for good. 2 years and you have no idea where she is, or know anything about her basically at all. Searching through the net and phone book seems to be a waste of time. Sorry to say man, but unless she calls you, I don't see it happening.
