We can't seen to go a week without rain here in Jersey this year.

Out here in the West things look a little better our reservoirs are full and yesterday a real beautiful thunderstorm ran through Sacramento at 80 miles an hour!
It was raining at 23 inches an hour with 1400 Lighting flashes an hour too!

Never has this happened before in the Sacramento valley.

I guess we are getting blown from both coasts? :D

It's silly isn't it. You guys are getting rain, we're in the worst drought in centuries, and just a couple hours up north, they have floods.
Wish we had the rain when the bushfires hit.

Rained all day yesterday....and we just had a downpour end a couple min ago.

Still about 2.8% lower than normal.

A thunderboomer rolled thru here around 5:00 PM EST...classic...lightning, thunder, torrential rain...lasted a good 45 minutes...the frogs and toads loved it.

We've been getting thunder showers for the last two days, even in locations that have never recorded rain in June. Blame it on Global Warming. BTW, a new El Nino is building . . .

The driver side window of my car is leaking, so my butt was wet all night.

It's on the news that south Florida (West Palm Beach, Ft. Lauderdale, Miami) is swamped...some hellacious t-storms went thru and there's more to come...houses flooded, cars floating, fires, wrecks, power out, wind and hail, 4k lightning strikes in a matter of minutes...Mom Nature can be a bitch sometimes.

It not that "it's not nice to fool Mother Nature", it's impossible. Mama will know . . . Mama will getcha!

Those are some lovely shots. I love taking pictures of developing thunderstorms. I'm glad you've got some rain. I thought we'd gotten it all in north Florida. I'd gladly attach some and send it to my friends who haven't been getting any. My sister in southern California (where they say it never rains anyway) said she'd just about forgotten what rain was. It's rained every day for more than a week.

This afternoon my son came in with two of his friends from a Sword Clan meeting; they'd gotten soaking wet because their leader is OK with them fighting until lightning starts in, and then they must leave the field.

One of the friends is the girlfriend of the other one. I usually don't differentiate that much between my son's friends--most of them are guys, anyway--but I like this young woman very much as a person; she's interesting. I lent her one of my sarongs.

The weather radio's reporting a tornado was spotted west of here on the ground about 10 min ago...in the dark no less. We're havin' a hellacious thunderboomer right now...I hope that twister stays west of here.

I knew there was a reason I prefer Ca to Fla! Tornadoes, yuck!
