I wanted to make a final update and issue an apology of sort for what I wrote about his mother. Trying to do the "right" thing in the midst of tragedy, culture and language is very hard.
His mother's decision to bury him according to her culture wasn't an attempt to cut out Critter. They have a tradition of a mass after 15 days to mark the end of public morning. She had arranged for this to be done in English as well as Joesephus' language.
She also had made certain that the casket was the type needed for transport if that's what Critter wanted to do. According to all sources an open casket was never a possibility.
She has also offered to pay to have Critters parent's flown down here and she has offered to pay for a memorial service in the states. Joesephus was her only child and she couldn't be more loving and helpful.
I'm also so proud of Critter. She's much stronger than I thought. I came to help her and I find she's helping me. I am still angry at my loss, but not at his family.
