It was a cold day in Febuary. Unusal but I didn't care.
*Cell phone ringing of Bonanza tune*
"Hello?"
"You busy Nick?"
"No I'm not busy. I'm getting ready for my hike in the woods. So whats up Steve?"
"I was just calling to see if we were still on for the meeting tonight?"
"Yep! I'll see you there."
"Bye."
"Bye"
After pulling on a pair of thick wool socks and my shoes, I was off to the woods. Everyday I hike through these woods beside my house. I had new insentive today though, because something strange walked through my yard last night and I felt like sumething was up.
"Come on Bigfoot!"
my great dane came waltzing in the room with little intrest. Normally I would not have taken him with me but I needed his nose to help me find the trail of what I think may be my first Bigfoot sighting!
Twenty minuets into my hike and I had found nothing. Bigfoot did not find anything. I desided I would take a break. It wasn't long before a raccoon caught Bigfoots eye and he was chasing it thruogh the woods with an excited "woof!"
"Bigfoot, come back here!" all I heard was distant barking.
"Bigfoot!" Soon, all I heard was silence. With a sigh I begin treading through the undergrowth the direction I had saw Bigfoot go still calling his name.
*Crack!* "Bigfoot?" Nothing.
I stood there as still as possible and listened.
*Crack* There it was again! I turned toward the sound and was attcked!
"Noo!" I shouted as I fought to get to my feet. After I was standing I was met with Bigfoot. He stood there panting exctedly and wagging his tail.
"Bad dog!" I rubbed my head and looked for what I had hit it on. I didn't see anything. Frustrated I picked up and threw a rock into the woods. It seemed to hit an invisable wall with a metallic *Clank!*
"What the?" I reached out with my hand and felt cool metal. I moved my hand across the surface and with a hiss a large door opened, revealing what looked to be some kind of boiler room.
I tied Bigfoot to a nearby tree branch and steped in the door to investigate. 'This is much better than finding the sasquatch.'
I got no more than fifteen feet into the doorway before with another hiss the door begain to close!
"Damn!" Running at almost full speed I dash through the door. Bigfoot was barking wildly.
"It's OK boy."
I had to tell Steve and the others what I had found!
Dialing my cell phone, I stared at the door that now was connected to a massive wall. There was no answer from Steve so I left a message on his machine.
"Steve, I found something amazing! I will tell you at the meeting tonight, you won't believe this!"
Marking the trial with the marker flags I carry with me to mark the trial so that I don't get lost exploring new paths, I make my way back to my house with Bigfoot right by my side.
