Dap a little Preparation H ( yeah it sounds gross, but buy a tube just for this purpose) on the cold sore. It does seem to work

...brush it, when brushin' your teeth, just brush o'er the sore, it hurts like hell, but will start it on the healin' process...

Buy some Herpacin-L, it's just like a little thing of chapstick, and it works wonders. I use mine daily just because I think it works better than regular chapstick. It's also cheap and you can find it at about any drugstore. If the blister is on the outside of your mouth (mine always are), you could try putting some antibiotic cream on it and covering it with a bandaid before going to bed. I know it looks stupid, but it works.
