This inspires a different approach to me:

Dystopian setting (possibly fantasy): you have a fascist government in control. They still have women getting pregnant as an event BUT…the focus and goal is different. The women are perfect examples of the governments vision of the ideal beauty, whether that be through eugenics, political beliefs (again, should be a fictional or fantastic setting), religious beliefs what have you.

The breeding events aren’t just spectacles for people to get off to and bet on: they are symbols of the government: these women are so pure a symbol of the party that they would never let inferior seed impregnate them.
