I'd also argue that you can write a story from a woman's POV using third person because you can follow one MC. Take Pride and Prejudice as an example—very much third person, but also very much told from Elizabeth Bennett's POV.
Also, there is a 'female pov' tag that has three pages (between 101 and 150?) of search results.
