'She's pregnant. I'm not the father': Lesbian couple announce their baby news with a unique family photo

Sometimes in life it's best to get right to the point, as one lesbian couple demonstrated when they announced their pregnancy using custom-made comedy T-shirts.

'I'm pregnant', expectant mother Becca Owen's shirt reads, while her wife Meg’s states: 'I'm not the father.’

The Washington-based duo posted a snap of themselves wearing the T-shirts to Imgur, where it has been viewed almost two million times.

Meg, whose wife conceived via artificial insemination and is due in July, told The Huffington Post: 'We just wanted a fun way to tell our loved ones that we’re starting a family.'

According to Meg, the couple opted to a 'post nontraditional baby announcement for a nontraditional family.'

Many asked how the couple decided who would carry the baby, to which Meg jokingly replied: 'We measured our hips and she won.'

Answering the question in earnest, she later wrote: 'My wife has dated men before me so she always assumed she'd have a baby biologically.

'I had no interest. So it just worked out that way.'

Speaking about their photo going viral, Meg said: 'While the picture is humorous in tone, I hope people see that this is really all about love.

'I hope people see that this is normal and beautiful.'
