Princess and Lady (though what sex are the kitties?*L*)

Sassy and Sweets

They are both male. We see definite Siamese features with slightly triangular faces.

Iblis is Arabic for Lucifer... just a little different. Lucifer only shortens to Lucy... and thats just silly.

Ahhh gentleman cats -very elegant, they're gorgeous and definitely regal pussies.*nods*

If lucifer seems right, then lucifer it should be.

But don't listen to me, I'm just a crazy lady *L*

A fine name... for a female cat. Kinda silly for a male. :) And kinda redundant if you already have one.

And glad you liked the name. I like giving pets unique names.

Hello and goodbye: You shouldn't have felines around when preggers, doll. ("F'ing Appleby, always a friggin' party pooper." :( )

I don't care to turn this into some gigantic political/health thread - I know the evidence is mixed on this. But if ever there is a place where "the precautionary principle" makes sense, surely the health of a new new baby is it.

PS. I like kitties too (except when they murder innocent little birdies, and then I don't blame the kittie but the human owner), so this is not some generalized feline animus on my part.

Yes, concerned light of my life :) I love you for being concerned about me

I have a healthy five year old with whom I was pregnant, and had 4 cats live with us.

Toxoplasmosis is real, yes.

We've always had cats with outside access and my husband changed the litter during my two pregnancies.

You're actually in greater danger if you love to garden and the neighborhood cats use your garden as a litter box.

How do people get toxoplasmosis?

A Toxoplasma infection occurs by:

* Accidentally swallowing cat feces from a Toxoplasma-infected cat that is shedding the organism in its feces. This might happen if you were to accidentally touch your hands to your mouth after gardening, cleaning a cat's litter box, or touching anything that has come into contact with cat feces. Eating contaminated raw or partly cooked meat, especially pork, lamb, or venison; by touching your hands to your mouth after handling undercooked meat.
* Contaminating food with knives, utensils, cutting boards and other foods that have had contact with raw meat.
* Drinking water contaminated with Toxoplasma.
* Receiving an infected organ transplant or blood transfusion, though this is rare.

Thank you, Sssarah :rose:

I don't garden, and I don't go near the litter tray :cattail:

What beautiful green eyes! How about Peridot, the birth stone for August?

As for the health concerns, your hubby can take care of the hygiene and feeding of the cat and you should be fine.
