So back in the long long ago, when we did not have the internet in our pockets but DID have an onion our belt, we used the expression 'I could watch her read the phone book,' to relay how captivated we were with someone.

I could easily watch you read the phone book with that amazing mouth of yours.

Better yet, I would love to watch you referee a ball game, with a tight striped shirt and a bright red whistle.

Haha I'm so appreciative of you explaining that idiom to me, it would have gone right over my head...but I do remember the days when phone books were still a thing.

I must agree--as humbly as possible--I'd make an adorable referee. Shame I don't give a damn about Halloween, that'd be an easy costume.
