I'm a new(?) author and am learning to navigate this section of Literotica. I have a story call "Cherry" in the Mature section (http://www.literotica.com/stories/showstory.php?id=34999). Just before subscribing to this forum I submitted a new story called "The Overlook", also in the Mature section. However, after submitting the new story I discovered that there is a rating for authors to view the rating of submitted works. I was very eager to look up how Cherry was reieved. I think that I'm very pleased that it recieved a 4.45 rating. My question is twofold; 1) is that a good rating and 2) i'd like some feedback from other authors on Cherry and The Overlook (when it makes it to being posted). Also I'm eager to"meet" other people on this board...any suggestions on places here for discussion/chat would be most appreciated.

"I always feel sorry when there's a little thread asking for feedback with a big fat zero in the replies column," he said, "especially when it slips all the way down to the bottom without a whiff of interest."

"It did seem sad," she replied. "I'm glad you didn't let it pass."

"And it wasn't a bad story after all," he scratched his false beard knowledgebly. "I quite enjoyed it."

"It wasn't bad," she agreed, "I was quite rushed off my feet by the beginning, though."

"Hmm, yes, twelve years in twelve lines, almost. Never did like too many numbers all bunched together in prose - always reminds me of algebra."

"And we all know what algebra does to your constitution, dear."

"Precisely. Well anyhow, after those first few paragraphs, it seemed to settle into some nicely descriptive writing."

"That's what I thought," she nodded, putting her cup back in the saucer, "it built up really quite nicely."

"Mmm," he scratched his dandruff-laden scalp. "But there was one thing missing, I thought."

"You know," she said, "that's almost exactly what I thought. Missing - something completely missing."

"Quite sapped the life out of the characters," he said, and it seemed as though they both spoke as one:

"There was simply no dialogue to be found."
