Feedback rant

I wish there was a way for the author to view the comments that have been omitted. (If there is, please tell me!) I quite like the ones that berate my characters that were designed to be unlikeable.

Omitted by who? (whom?). I think the ones you delete are still there on the dashboard. I don't think the Web site is deleting many substantive ones and the spam ones wouldn't tell you anything substantive. Only the site and you can delete comments on your stories.

I have had at least one deleted by the site. Since the commentator was clearly enraged about a character, it may have been interpreted as more hostile than it really was. It made a good impact on me at the time, since it showed that I had been successful at writing a despicable character.

I haven't seen anything on my dashboard apart from notifications that someone has commented something somewhere. Is this the old UI dashboard you are talking about? I might have to take a look.

Under Works in the new dashboard, the comments that have been made show up. I've noted that after I've deleted a comment, they still appear there in my dashboard/Works. I don't know if they eventually go away as I haven't checked for that.

This is called censorship, no one here wants to use that word.

Yet somehow if you go over to loving wives it looks like they remove comments the same way they half ass screen stories because it seems the real nasty stuff is still there in force.

But then again, its what they encourage here

NO matter how vicious a comment was, as far as I know, none have been removed unless I removed them. If they let the ones get bay that were so nasty, I'd hate see the ones thought unworthy of posting at all.

Sadly there's nothing there. Only positive comments, which is odd considering its modest rating or the cuckolding. I don't find comments that I've definitely deleted either, but I did also report them rightfully as irrelevant spam. So maybe those would have been perfectly wiped out.

Maybe they would have been, only you removed them first. For me they were removed within 24 h if i remember correctly.

I left several of them up for days. Over 50 comments, at one point, not all bad some people defending the story. It's been culled down to 30 something now. I have hard time removing stuff, when people take the time to respond. Even when I don't like the attacks. I made the mistake of responding too. I shouldn't have.

A comments purge will drift through the various pages at different rates, because the database refresh cycles each have their own clocks. I imagine 24 hours would see a complete reset of content, including complete deletions.
