Wow, what a great ego boost. You open your e-mail and get messages from people saying how much they love your stories. This, I can live with.

They love you for your virtues, and are kind and generous enough to take the time to tell you that - don'cha just wanna reach through the screen and hug 'em?!MagicaPractica said:Wow, what a great ego boost. MagicaPractica said:Do you guys delete public comments that don't make sense? I was letting the negative comments remain, balanced with the positive anyway. But I just got a couple comments that don't even really make sense to me. Would you delete something like that?
rgraham666 said:I've only ever deleted two.
One was a horribly nasty one, directed at the woman who helped with the piece. It blasted her for being gay and me for allowing her to live. (Insert vomiting smiley here) Into the bit bucket.
The other was a double post.
I leave everything else. The good ones make me feel better and the bad ones make me giggle.

Though, getting back in the spirit of this thread, it is true that the generous and enthuiastic readers far outweigh any others and I wish we could send them all a rose in return for their kind words![]()
I have only deleted a tiny handful, less than five I'm sure. My standard is, would the comment detract from another reader's enjoyment of the story, more specifically, make another reader feel stupid or bad for having liked the story. Something that is a legitimate opinion on a point of disagreement is fine, like "Too long," or "Dragged after the third page" or even "The woman was not a credible character and the sex scenes lacked emotional content." Something like the following would get deleted: "The writer of this story is clearly a sociopath, and anyone who liked it should receive a visit from a court-appointed psychatrist accompanied by heavily armed state troopers." They can insult or criticize me via the anon or non-anon email thing, but they can't demean or take away from the readers.Jenny_Jackson said:I thought I had a franchise on those feedbacks. But, yes. The constructive Feedback even though negative are Wonderful![]()
Yep. One of the perks of being a writer. You get wonderful fans...and now and then, an assholes. I swear they hover about certain categories like flies, dropping "sicko!" comments on any new story in that category no matter what it's about or who wrote it.Jenny_Jackson said:I thought I had a franchise on those feedbacks. Aurora Black said:You know the type of feedback that I can't stand? The PCs made by people who are too lazy to write their own message, so they copy and paste lines from my stuff and then post them as feedback. Seriously, what the hell? I can appreciate the fact that the "comments" were meant in a positive way, but write in your own words! Don't steal mine.![]()
As for the "You suck!" variety of feedback, thank goodness that I haven't encountered that so far. The worst feedback I've received for anything (either poetry or stories) came to me recently, and I responded accordingly.![]()
