Ok..I have changed the button colour and dropped the text boxes..does that stop the overlap and make the buttons easier to read?

cym I have been getting that complaint about My site from about 10 % of the people that read it..I did not have that problem when I was building in Communicator but do get it when I build in Dreamweaver..unfortunately for Me..I like to build in Dreamweaver..arghhhh.

I love Dreamweaver too, one of the best programs ever... part of your "problems" comes from using layers, try converting them to tables or don't use them at all. From what I see you don't need them for your current design.

I have all the text and buttons in tables..if I have made layers it was a unique accident...( that I better figure out how to get out of) so for the moment I have simplified by removing some of the text until I can get it right.

mg...at the moment I am going to leave the background white..although a sub friend made me a gift of the banner at the bottom of the page and it looks amazing with a black background.

ok, the words are now back to normal, BUT there was no scroll bar, it worked if i clicked on the screen then used my up/down buttons, but nothing otherwise.

any help?

I have never heard of disappearing scroll bars.

I am also going to be interested in hearing what could cause this...I don't think it can have anything to do with the way the site was built but of course I am no expert as has quickly become apparent!

Which browser do you use? Lot's of those things happen due to the "wrong" browser. It get's harder and harder for WebMasters/Mistresses to design a site that works for all browsers.

Do you have the same problem with another browser like icab (I think that one's free too) as well?

Well finally I have linked the new page to My main site under the ads button..am awaiting ads that are being written up and will be more than happy to consider any that those looking for skin to skin may wish coverage for..then it is the wait and see what happens scenerio that We BDSMers live with day to day!

I am now moving on to to the next section which will be for those who wish another area to display any BDSM related erotica they have written.

This is also new to Me as I have always kept My site 99% only of Myself and My ways. Time to expand and allow others new opportunities.

disappearing scroll bars

In my experience, disappearing scrolls bars occur for one of two reason (there may be more), either:

1. your page is smaller than it was, in which case there is no need for scroll bars (they only appear when the page is too large to fit in the working area of the monitor). This can be determined by user/author defined font size, working area size, presence of tool bars, and size of buttons and scroll bars. (The user defined settings are accessed in the Windows environments by right-clicking on the desktop and choosing properties, then appearance).

2. Scroll bars have been deselected in the view menu (in windows environment).

I hope this helps; I have been fighting with web design and html for three years with three different websites (self-taught), and I still wonder if the webpages display correctly in all the browsers [I occasionally get lazy (who am I kidding I get lazy more often that occasionally) and don't check my pages with every browser].
