Fed up with month long waits and AI false positives

I know I'm not the only one dealing with this bullshit, but it is absolutely ridiculous. I have waited months just to get stories rejected as AI written. To state the obvious, they are not.

There is apparently no recourse. I have run my work though AI detectors, tried rewrites, all to no avail. I have a backlog of stories that I put a lot of time and effort into (not using AI). After multiple attempts, I assume they will never be published. I'm honestly pretty heartbroken about it. Fuck. This. Place.

There does seem to be a glitch in the submission system, a a lot of people are complaining about waiting forever for stories to get published. At least you got a result -- eventually.

There have also been a number of AI false positives reported lately. I think the number is increasing at least in part because the number of submissions has been increasing. Let's say 2% are false positives. If you have 200 stories a day submitted, that's 4 false positives every day. if you have 300 submissions a day, that's 6 false positives per day. That is going to create more complaints.

It's funny how all the stories I've had pending for weeks or months were rejected right after posting this. I guess someone wanted to tell me "Fuck you, you and your work aren't welcome here". Noted, fuck you too.

I think it might be beneficial if everyone who was either experiencing delays in publication or AI rejection provided details on how they submitted their story.

If there is a "glitch", which I'm not convinced that there is, does it affect all submission procedures equally? Do uploaded files take longer than form field pasted ones? Does the category matter? Does the files size matter? Does the number of previously published stories matter?

Consider all the possible parameters when submitting a story and tell us how your delayed or rejected story fits them.

Pretty sure that has been being done for the past year. Its not the people, its the site.

At this point if you're that frustrated, I suggest trying another site to post your stories. There is no sign either of these issues are getting better.

Can you link to a post where the circumstances are being tracked?

There is no doubt that the issue is with the site, but since there are so many variables that could impact the processing of story submissions, is it possible that there might be some that work better than others?

They do say Silence is golden

At least that’s the mantra adopted at Lit HQ whenever their are issues

Nothing to confirm

Nothing to deny

“It’s just a flesh wound”

I'm telling you all, most of these long waits are because anything that triggers the AI sniffer is getting bottom-piled. The pattern has been obvious for a long time now, and it looks just like this example. The minority that remain are being affected by the submissions glitch, and a simple view + save changes will reset your position in the queue, which almost always solve the problem.

There's no new problem. Most of the people waiting forever will eventually be rejected for AI. Anyone who does the view + save changes trick and ends up waiting again is absolutely going to get rejected for AI.

To the OP: Unfortunately, you have the right of it. There's no point in trying to appease a brainless algorithm. If you're not using AI, you're just fucked, and there's nothing you can do about it. Feel free to drop me a PM if you want a couple of links to alternate venues. Lit will always have the biggest audience, but it doesn't matter if you never get published.

Double check the settings and FAQ of any editing software you use, though. Everything is getting infected with the syphilis of AI lately, and you may not even know it's happening. Thankfully, I'm a Luddite who keeps using Wordperfect X4 from 2008.
