FEC moves to stifle 'free speech.'

They're going to tell Drudge which articles he cannot link to?

 Fremdschämen

I look forward to seeing just which posters think that this is a good, even necessary idea.

FEC Chairman Lee E. Goodman, a Republican, said if regulation extends that far, then anybody who writes a political blog, runs a politically active news site or even chat room could be regulated. He added that funny internet campaigns like “Obama Girl,” and “Jib Jab” would also face regulations.

“I told you this was coming,” he told Secrets. Earlier this year he warned that Democrats on the panel were gunning for conservative Internet sites like the Drudge Report.

Let's call it, The Lerner Rule.

What's kinda funny about the proposed rule is that it could impact Lit. The political threads here on the GB could do what some of the rules proposed concerning porn were never able to do.

Why should internet advertising be treated differently to TV advertising?

I know a dozen regulars here who really belong on the Playground who would absolutely relish the idea of being able to make us shut up and go away.

:(

That's a sad commentary on Voltaire's dream.

Are you finally admitting that you and the rest of the RWCJ are paid by the GOP?

Yep, and they bring the subject of sequestering the political to it's own sub-topic forum. Which would have the effect of turning the GB into another playground.

And in that I give Laurel a LOT of credit for foreseeing the consequences and sticking by her guns on the subject.

Amen and pass the plate...

Lol....awwwwwwww. How sad and pathetic.

I don't think you should shut up, or anyone here for that matter. But when you say remarkably stupid shit, expect to be called on it. Simple as that.

Having differing political views is rarely the issue here, it's the blatant fantaticism, lies and bs that are the problem. You are very guilty of it. But of course you'll just say "I never said that".

Btw.. reaching for a Voltaire quote doesn't make you seem smart, it makes you seem like you're reaching.. as tho knowing what HE said makes you intelligent.

Voltaire's Dream?

Voltaire never said that.

Those are the words of White Power enthusiast Kevin Strom, from a 1993 essay denying the existence of the Holocaust.

This is the second time I've pointed this out to you.

I'm surprised The Fraud hasn't implemented a Department of Information to make sure there is no more hate speech or lies being told to the American public....talk radio would be a good start. :)

Expect an executive order restoring the Fairness Doctrine and repealing the Monroe Doctrine!
