Washington (CNN) — The Federal Bureau of Investigations sent a letter Tuesday evening aiming to clear up false statements said by Director James Comey to Congress last week that former Hillary Clinton aide Huma Abedin "forwarded hundreds and thousands" of emails to her husband's laptop.

Comey was dismissed Tuesday, the White House announced.

The "supplement testimony" sent to Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-California, who is ranking member of the committee where Comey testified, was meant to "ensure that the committee has the full context of what was reviewed and found on the laptop."

The note, signed by Gregory Brower, assistant director of the FBI's Office of Congressional Affairs, clarified that the "hundreds of thousands of emails" that Comey said were 'forwarded" from Abedin to her husband's email "included emails transferred via backups as well as manual forwarding."

Comey stated in his testimony last week to Congress that Clinton's emails had been forwarded to the computer of Abedin's husband, former New York Rep. Anthony Weiner, and suggested that the "hundreds and thousands" of emails had been deliberately sent directly from Abedin to Weiner's computer. But US officials told CNN last fall the majority of the thousands of emails reviewed by the FBI got to Weiner's computer via a backup system for Abedin's phone.

Why is the FBI even paying any attention to this any more?

Because there is a strong possibly Comey may have obstructed justice or violated DOJ rules and regulations in covering up for Hillary, the President, and Lynch.

Interesting. So what Comey thought was additional scandal has turned out to not be a scandal at all.

From wanting Comey fired, to outrage that he was fired, to complacency and smugness...

All in two weeks. Fucking Amazing!

No, there isn't.

Yes, there is. In communicating with Hillary using her illegal server under a pseudonym he committed felonies under 18 USC 793 and is direct evidence he lied to the American people as well.

What on Earth are you talking about?

You need to get yourself up to speed on the facts before commenting. The FBI discovered Obama was using a pseudonym to communicate with Hillary using her illegal server. The significance of this is, by doing so he was committing a felony as was she under 18 USC 793. You won't recall but I'll tell you anyway, Obama was asked by the press when he knew Hillary had conducted official business on an illegal server, Obama replied he heard about it when he read it in the papers. Another big lie by the Lair in Chief. Comey's problem was the same as Lynch's problem. To bring charges against Hillary meant the President would have to be pursued as well.

No, Obama would have slapped the "privileged and confidential" stamp on everything and then pardoned Hillary for all crimes she may have committed while acting as SoS.

It get's old in a hurry when you have to substantiate common knowledge because other's either enjoy harassing you into re-inventing the wheel for them, or are just completely uninformed in the elementary details of current events. Good job.

Obama used a pseudonym in emails with Clinton, FBI documents reveal
http://www.politico.com/story/2016/09/hillary-clinton-emails-fbi-228607

The State Department has refused to make public that and other emails Clinton exchanged with Obama. Lawyers have cited the "presidential communications privilege," a variation of executive privilege, in order to withhold the messages under the Freedom of Information Act.

The report doesn't provide more details on the contents of that particular email exchange, but says it took place on June 28, 2012, and had the subject line: "Re: Congratulations." It may refer to the Supreme Court's ruling that day upholding a key portion of the Obamacare law.

Seems innocuous to me.

Likewise.

I wonder what the pseudonym was? "Renegade"?

Fun fact: Trump's Secret Service codename is "Mogul."

I do wonder why they even have those, if they're going to publish them. How much time does it take to say "Obama" or "Trump" into your mic?
