Fax Software

I often travel for my job and sometimes(rarely) find myself in need of a fax machine. I was thinking there has got to be some software that I can use my tethered cellphone to send the data from my laptop. Anybody have any experience here. I'd prefer freeware as my company isn't going to pay for it.

I've only ever used Winfax, which was bundled with an old modem, but I'm sure you can find something that will work if you google faxmodem software.

I don't know that you can use it with a tethered cell, because Winfax requires a faxcapable modem.

However, I just recalled a radio advertisement I heard just recently for an online service that lets you e-mail documents to a fax machine -- I'm not sure how it works, but, again, google is your friend; possibly "onliine fax service" for a search term?

ETA: google email to fax service and you'll get 26,600,000 hits for places like efax.com that will send and receive faxes via e-mail.
